TNA WRESTLING NEGOTIATING WITH MAJOR TV BROADCAST NETWORK
by Mike Johnson @ 4:24:00 PM on 6/29/2007
Several weeks ago, I noted that MyNetworkTV was interested in TNA programming and that the two sides had met. As it turns out, I was wrong.
According to several entertainment industry sources in California, TNA actually met with the Fox network itself at that point, not MyNetworkTV. Negotiations moving forward at this point.
This potential TV deal could mean a pretty major jump in the amount of TV hours the company currently produces weekly because of the opportunity for exposure through multiple networks, as I am hearing this could be a multi-network deal. http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=25223&p=1

Is TNA really ready for that? A 2 hour timeslot on Fox or FX (fox owns them right?) or something would be good; too much more than that, I don't know yet.

They just text messaged me on Angle beating Lesnar about 20 minutes ago.

That ain't the New Japan IWGP Heavyweight championship. That's Inoki ignoring that New Japan stripped Lesnar of the title and calling it the new Heavyweight title of a company he's starting.
Kurt always gets the shaft when it comes to winning prestigious titles. First the WCW championship, then the NWA championship and now this.

well, i bet that TNA tv deal is ****ing done with now.
Don't noone want the murder-sport on their channel.
I doubt anyone sees Wrestling as a "murder-sport," in fact, I think the whole steroids issue surrounding the WWE gives TNA a chance to really show that they have a different product with their smaller wrestlers. For example, Angle is not half as ripped as he was when he won the WHC on Smackdown. Sting, Abyss, Cage, and Joe aren't even as big as a lot of WWE's midcarders (Masters and Snitsky, for example). They can also spotlight their X-Division talent who would barely make it to WWE's midcard, so though it sucks for the WWE at this time, for TNA it is a great time to differentiate their product and spotlight these "normal" sized guys in the way that WWF did by putting the strap on Hart and Michaels in the mid-90s.
--Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle had a match. Really. It was earlier today at Tokyo Sumo Hall, said to be a great match with Angle winning via ankle lock on the debut of Antonio Inoki's IGF promotion. After Angle won, he said he would give Lesnar a rematch but wanted it as an MMA match. He said he needed to do it soon because he's 38.

KURT ANGLE BEATS BROCK LESNAR IN JAPAN FOR THE IWGP CHAMPIONSHIP
By Bill Banks
On Friday in Tokyo, Japan, TNA Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle defeated longtime rival Brock Lesnar for the IWGP Championship in a match for Antonio Inoki’s new IGF wrestling promotion.
TNA officials spoke by phone with Angle following the match, who had this to say:
“The IWGP Championship is the second title to add to my growing collection,” Angle said. On July 15 at Victory Road, I’m going to add a third title – the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Then after Victory Road, there will only be one more title for me to win – and that’s to take the X Championship from that fat slob Samoa Joe!”
Angle finished up by saying…
“It's real...it's damn real...thank you!"
Kurt Angle will be returning to the United States with both his TNA World Heavyweight Championship as well as the IWGP Championship.
IGF) The promotion is running an angle in which Brock Lesnar says he wants revenge against Kurt Angle by having a re-match, this time under MMA rules. Meanwhile, Josh Barnett wants a match against Kurt Angle for the IWGP 3rd belt.
