:Seriously.....Chino XL as a punchline emcee>Big L as a punchline emcee
I say that Chino XL is slightly better than Big L as a punchline emcee...its like Big L was ill...but his punchlines weren't as creative as Chinos like everytime people bring up punchlines or greatest at punchlines people never bring up Chino....and to back what i'm saying look at some of these chino lines
"The term Chino Goes synonymous with corpses flipped/
But never celebrated like Hanukkah in Auschwitz/"
"The whole game's like Richie Valens it should never take flight/"
"Illest lyrics ever invented, said it, meant it/
You're hearing more claps than inside a Vietnam V.D. clinic/"
"Yo, shake my hand, I snap your wrist off/
Been God on Earth so long the one in Heaven's pissed off/ "
"Not Howard Stern but get your temper burning/
make you vomit blood in slow motion like Tyra Banks did in Higher Learning/ "
"Burn in Heaven, no weapon can harm me/
These homos been in the closets so long I'ma donate them to Salvation Army/ "
"Gettin' used to being crazy/
As a double jointed female doctor bent over, delivering her own baby/ "
"I feel like the future literally/
Cause its never been proven if any man alive is capable of seein me/"
"Chino is so rare,
battling me is like Africa yea they talk about it but they dont really wanna go there"
like Big L is crazy with it...but i have both Big L albums and i have Here To Save You All, I Told You So, and Poison Pen by Chino i think chino has the slightly better punchlines...only by like a few inches
YOUR BIG MISTAKE IS COMPARING A DEAD RAPPER TO A LIVE ONE....THO I WOULD AGREE CHINO'S LINES ARE MUCH ILLER PEOPLE ON SO DONT REALLY GIVE A DAMN, THEY HATE ON CHINO HARD BODY FAM...BUT I WOULD GIVE IT TO CHINO BUT SLIGHTLY. BUT AS AN EMCEE CHINO ISNT NEAR BIG L'S LEVEL. cHINO HAS YET TO WRITE A SONG TO RIVAL EBONICS EVEN THO I LUVED "WORDSMITH"
People will never give Chino the nod over Big L because he's dead. That's pretty much all it is, people act like Big L was crazy with the punchlines, he was decent at best. Any one claiming otherwise is either not familiar with his material and fronting so they seem more knowledgeable about rap, or just on his d*ck because he's dead.
Not that Chino is crazy with punchlines either, but he's definitely better than Big L.
he tries too damn hard, i put him in the category of guys like Vakill that are clever but cant translate it to music. L has a posthumous release tighter than anything Chino ever came with
L probably does get a bit overrated in death, but he was still that dude. he has one local classic, a great 2nd album that would have been even better if he was there to oversee it, and i even came up with a whole 3rd disc of lost tracks and freestyles.
