...most people do have atleast one of them in their top 10 no doubt (me included), but your initial statement is wrong. There maybe someone who only likes underground shyt and have names like MF Doom, Jean Grey, and Gift of Gab on their list...It's still "Hip Hop". A person may only like early 80's shyt and none of the names you mentioned may be in his top ten...a list with names such az Mellie Mel, Caz, and Moe Dee is still very much "Hip Hop".
Since my top ten list is very unique (because I have several people in each position), I could easily tip toe around the names you mentioned and still give you my true top ten list:
