At the courts today.

Today I was at the courts at a university and there was a fight. This white guy who had been "styling" on this black dude and the black dude fought. Well, the black dude fought him. We were running full-court and the next thing you notice, the black dude slammed the white dude on the ground and starting basically mauling him like a black bear. No one knew why.

The black dude let off after everyone is pulling him off and he said as he left, "He fouled me dog."

Boo-hoo, he fouled you. How many times have you all been elbowed, headbutted, or blocked hard and NOT just basically beat someone down?

This leads me to my point. Every since I was little, playing pickup games and league play, white dudes didn't want to play with black dudes. They would whisper under their breath to one another that they don't play with black dudes because the black dudes always want to fight.

Do you notice this where you play? Why does this happen? Why can't we all just play for fitnes, fun and competition? Why does it always have to be that one black dude that wants to go all gangsta on the game? I have literally seen people (white and black) walk away from games because they don't want to get caught up in anything.

I felt so sorry for the guy because he was a nice dude and he was schooling everyone. He was just a nice dude who was going to college there. He wasn't talking sh!t or anything and that is what everyone said they had noticed, that he wasn't talking any smack and he didn't foul. I always think that white people come to be racist because they were victims of violent acts or crime against them from blacks and these brothers that come to the courts with violence and not peace are only adding to that racism.

If that is what it is that set him off, then yea. I think that there isn't a reason why you can't show respect for someone regardless of race if they deserve that respect. The white guy was a real good guy, he was always passing, had team support and all that, didn't talk crap and he apparently elbowed the black dude.

Overall, the black dude was "made because he was styling on him."

to a certain extent i agree with it.... not that all white people are mad cuz of being victimized... cuz that's ludicrous.

But if you're a white kid at that court... you grow up in a suburban neighborhood, go to a school that's 10 percent black, maybe another 8-10 perent latino... you prolly don't have many black or spanish friends...

at the very least, you're gonna think that its dangerous to play basketball well around black kids. its silly, but its what you saw with your own two eyes. I've played planty of basketball in my years (a lot of cats here know my story) so i've experienced alot of racism around the courts, and i've dealt with it as best as i could over the years. But every light skinned kid is not me, every kid didn't grow up as the EXTREME minority in their neighborhood..... for a white person in general... they never will be in that position, or at least not often enough to catch a decent sample size.

I've had cats try to scrap with me for years and years over the dumbest shlt... was i targeted cuz i was white? a lot of times, probably. I took it for what it was worth, and because i wanted to play ball.... but i never understood how somebody, who i could probably assume has been targeted, whether in stores, or in the classroom, or by the police, or in the work force... because they were black, could turn on somebody and do the same shlt to somebody else, because that person was white.

If a black man showed up to an all white court, busted ass, and then was beat up for it.... would you want to go play with some white people? I wouldn't.

but every white person isn't some card carrying cracker.... they don't all see race as a definition, or a tint, rather than a lens (which can be adjusted). Just as every black person isn't some illiterate, rowdy, drug 'slanging' negro....

but the fact is that while race impacts everything in america, its not always the biggest factor... kids need to learn how to separate it. I guess i'm different, because i didn't really grow up with white people, or with much family (other than parents and two sibs)...
