This year has the potential to be one of the GOAT for big movies (list/opinions?)
I haven't been excited about this many movies during the spring/summer for a long a$$ time.
These are all pretty much must see movies for most people I would guess. I would have listed release dates with them but I got lazy.
Which ones are people here going to go see.
Transformers
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Spiderman 3
Pirates of the Carribbean at worlds end (aka pt 3)
Shrek the 3rd
The Bourne Ultimatum (aka pt 3)
Rush Hour 3
Oceans 13 (aka pt 3)
Live Free or Die Hard
Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer
The Simpsons Movie
Honorable mention
Evan Almighty

spiderman will probably make the most of all of them.
the only potential flops are Die hard, bourne, and my wildcard pick to flop rush hour 3. And it wont be because the movies arent good. there just seems to be a lack of buzz. Hence the new die hard trailer showing like every action seqquence in the whole flick to try to get people excited.
spidy, transformers, shreck, harrypotter, pirates will put up starwars numbers.

Live Free or Die Hard aka Die Hard 4 - It looks like it's going to be wild, some of the illest action sequences I've seen are in the trailer. I think it's a must see, my mans Bullock from Deadwood is going to be the co-goodguy in this one.
for me, it was the equivalent of turning off illmatic and listening to diplomatic immunity for a few hours. just because it's stupid doesnt mean it wasn't executed extremely well.

Die Hard 4.0 is going to flop. What are there monkeys in the marketing departments of these major studios? I feel embarrassed just saying Die Hard 4.0. And if they brought back Samuel L Jackson then there might have been something there...but I guess everybody is sick of the Black buddy comedy...which leads me to my next movie.
Rush Hour 3 is going to sell tickets no matter what. They'll most likely make their money back quietly with a $60 million opening weekend and a total take of $100 mill by a months run. I think it will be the last one. Plus it's getting bad buzz from what I am reading about the shooting script thats been floating around.
And as far as Bourne goes it's never been expected to be a Hollywood Blockbuster. Is it this time around? I never really got into the first two...so I can't really say.

LOL I know, but like I was saying If it's as live as the trailer makes it look it has potential to get bigger via word of mouth. But probably not.

You're probably right about the big opening weekend, I was shocked recently by how many middle aged black men/women (esp at my job) think Chris Tucker is the funniest commedian on earth. I litterally got into a 2 day arguement about it with some ladies I work with. Even when I pointed out he hasn't done any funny standup since 92, and he's only been in 5 comidies (counting 5th element and both Rush Hour movies), the last of which was over 6 years ago. There was no backin them down, they'll be out en masse opening weekend.

I know people ***** about the lack of creativity in Hollywood a lot, but seriously, 11 sequels and 2 cartoon adaptations.
At least I can be thankful that this list isn't full of remakes.
