Would Kobe be best used guarding Nash in this series?
I think we can all agree that Kobe going for 50 every night and trying to outscore the Suns himself will backfire on the Lakers
The Lakers need a balanced, inside attack to have a chance against Phoenix (which I'm not sure will work very well with they way they have been playing, but it's their best shot)
Having said that, maybe all of the energy Kobe saves on the offensive end using this approach can be used on D
Would Kobe guarding Nash, pressuring him as much as possible, be a good idea?

the lakers ALWAYS resort to a balanced attack when they face the Sonz......in the last i dunno 8 times they played, Kobe only got 50 ONCE....but they save Kobe to chase Barbosa around
Yes, the Spurs use Bowen on him and it works, so Lakers should use their best defender to slow him down as well out there. That would help alot, take notes.

No. I would use Kobe for Barbosa and I would use Sasha or Shammond for Nash cause they played him well this year. I remember last year Smush did a good job on Nash, but anyway Kobe needs to be a defensive force in order to win. He needs to suck it up and play his heart out on offense and defense so these anti-Kobe dudes can leave him alone. You cant discredit heart. Time to step up and be a man Kobe!!! Stop looking at your man blow by you!!!! Lazy bastard!

I have been saying put a bigger player on Nash to bother him. Bowen does it for the Spurs. Kobe or even Luke Walton (thats right) would be decent on Nash.
The pick and roll the Suns use is predicated on making the players switch and finding the mismatch. Putting a big player on him will negate a lot of that. I would put Smush on Bell and let Kobe gaurd Nash.
Dudes usually have too much ego to do that tho, cause don't no superstar wanna get lit up. If Kobes steps up and takes the challenge, he will get a lot more respect out of me, not that he doesn't get it already.

nope. The Lakers should run a 1-3-1 zone... fukkin Suns run too much... cant tire Kobe out by chasin anyone around the court. slow the game down to a half court set. the Suns would be doomed. lotta cats forget that these Suns really aint that dope as individuals. They can get out and run and score the bucket that way, but ask them to break a nicca down and they'll look like the NBAD Leaguers that they are.

I agree...a bigger player may give Nash some trouble
also, I think Kobe is needed more on the defensive end during this series because
1. The only effective offense against Phoenix is a balanced one
2. All the other Laker guards are garbage defensively

The key to LA beating the Suns is to pound the ball down low to Kwame and Lamar. On defense they must contain Barbosa and make Nash the main scorer. One more thing, Luke is the wild card to the Lakers succeeding. If he does well it's over.
