Fcuk Jesse and AL, for real they don't represent my generation and they need to go...
sit they grandstanding asses down somewhere. I dont give a damn about what Imus called them chicks you should be able to say whatever you want. On the real he's just some dumb radio guy and Jesse/AL blew this all out of proportion just to get some publicity and to scare the white establishment. Probably into coughin up donations to there "foundadions" And doin stuff like that does nothing to help bring us together as people.
How are we ever going to be equal if some of us want to still hold white people to a higher expectations. We got to stop cryin victim. I'm sure Al and Jesse have called people both nappy headed and hoes so they need to drop the fake indignation because a white person dared mock the way we refer to each other.
Yes I know my history but its 2007 Jesse is a fcukin snake and doesn't have anything to say when camera isn't around. Talkin to other black folks at work I know there are lots of other people who feel the same way.
This whole incident is going to come back and hurt hip hop. Watch, white folks aren't going to let that double standard mess fly this time.

I agree that Jesse and Al are old blood to me. The funny thing is most black folks I know don't really care for these two guys at all. Yes, we respect their contributions and fights of the past, but we don't really, really think they have our best interest. However, the media continues to perpetuate the notion that they "speak" for us.

The real reason they need to go is because, frankly they've both become political liablities...the moment any story with any racial ramifications pops up, the media runs to go get Jesse or Sharpen, only to deflect attention onto them instead of the real issue...the media are the true hypocrites in this...the Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly types b!tch and moan all day about "who gave Jackson and Al the moral authority to blah blah blah" but they're the first people those cats interview in every situation...and make no mistake, its a conscious and deliberate decision to do so...its very simple and intellectually lazy to move the conversation from the true issue to the shortcomings of those two...its to the point now, that we might as well have O.J. Simpson in their place...

lol. like the south park episode.

Bingo. Which going to an unrelated issue is why a guy like Obama doesn't need them for endorsments. He's new blood, the new generation who can generate excitement from his own people and across lines without the liabilities of either of those two.

I know
For real I'm from chicago and have been lightly involved with community issues so I've had occasion to deal with Operation Push and meet dude. I wish I could really get into what I came away from those experiences with cause it'd take too long. But let's keep it at the expression in the post title.
And lol at the "father" of one of the "victims" on the news lookin stupid with AL going to CBS demanding to have someone fired.
*feels ashamed*

We have fcukin overcome.
The problem is cat's like you thinking we haven't yet and that white folks owe us any more courtesy than we give ourselves. If a black person had said it no one whould care. And I don't think anyone really believes otherwise.
At some point we have to take responsibility for ourselves and stop blamin white folks for everything wrong in the world.

AGREED!
I said the same thing today in our history class when we were talkin about the Don Imus issue...it's like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton hurt us because to the media "they" represent black people. What do black people think about this? oh lets go ask Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton. Then the media tries to make them look like they're windbags (which sometimes they are) and they're crazy...which translates to "blacks just like to complain, blah blah blah"
I mean I do appreciate that these guys contribute and voice their opinions...but they do not represent an entire race. The media will continue to use them as such...and they need to tone down their press in the public circle.
seriously every ****in thing that happened,
OJ; what does Sharpton and Jackson think?
Amadou Diallo; what do Sharpton and Jackson think?
MJ a child molester; lets get Sharpton and Jackons's view points
Katrina; what do Sharpton and Jackson have to say now?
Sean Bell; What is Sharpton and Jackson gonna say about this?
Don Imus; Lets hear from Sharpton and Jackson
Bill O'reilly doesn't represent all white people...so why the **** do we get that honor?
Sometimes it helps to bump Ice Cube and rap along, "I wanna kill Sam cause he ain't my mother****in uncle!"

lol what? the fukk are you talkin about man?
So your saying after Imus said taht sh!t Jackson/Sharpton shoulda stated a PSA at a national media conference for all African-American's to take a better look at ourelves cause of what some ignoramus said about OUR race???

fukk outta here, B
No I'm saying how can we really be so angry about what he said when he was imitating how we talk about each other. Yes it was wrong and he should apologize but if someone callin a sister a hoe is such a big national news/pressconfrence worthy problem why isn't he demanding rappers to be dropped from lables ? It's disengenuous (sp?) is what my point is.
And yes they are suggestiog a national media confrence to take a better look at ourselves, as a result of what that ignoramus said about our race. The only thing that will come from that is a nice Photo Op with Mos Def and Common and platitudes about cleaning up music. Then nothing after the cameras are gone.
If Jesse and them really care that much about sista's being called hoes he'd be in Jimmy Ivones office demanding people be fired like they did for IMUS. But they won't because
1. There's no money in it
2. A lot of black folks would turn on them (see Bill Cosby)
and people are starting to call them on that. It's not a good look.
