Another radio host canned after using Imus slur

How many radio hosts do you think are willing to use the phrase "nappy-headed hos" in any context other than a news report on the scandal surrounding Don Imus? We would have guessed zero, but at least one DJ thought it would be funny to use the slur on his morning radio show.

The Pocono Record says "Gary Smith, host of the Gary in the Morning show on WSBG 93.5 FM, used "I'm a nappy-headed ho" as the "Phrase that Pays" on the air Tuesday morning." Three listeners who called in and repeated the phrase on the air received tickets to a NASCAR event, according to WSTM-TV.

Station management fired the longtime morning host after they listened to a tape of the program.

“Gary has done a tremendous amount of good for both African-Americans and whites, but we feel his comments crossed the line," a manager said.
Smith later apologized for his comments. "What I said was stupid, and I'm sorry," he told The Morning Call.

Imus didn't do sh*t, when he started he played songs, when Howard Stern came in the picture and played no songs just talk, Imus bit and took his whole style.

Personally I think it's hilarious the radio show had white Nascar fans calling themselves "nappy headed hoes" just to get some Nascar tickets. Nobody else thinks that's funny? That's more or less the opposite of what Imus did.
