I agree, but that was definitely Em's last gasp creatively, and let's not forget what Benzino rightfully said about Em. If he was black, nobody would care about his complicated rhyme schemes(Ras Kass, Canibus, Chino XL,). Black rappers like Jay-Z had to resort to commercial antics just to keep up to Em in terms of sales. We'll never know how good Jay could have become, because even he admitted that he dumbed down his lyrics to double his profits. Em never had to do that. His whiteness allowed him to stay complicated(for a little while) and not have to totally compromise himself to sell records.
