Made some of the wrong plays
& passed over a safe run
Played dumb in a lot of ways

Survivin is one thing
but thrivin’ll take luck

Show up at the right place

Knowin the right face
Be aligned for the payup

Some of us are dyin to find change
Do the wrong things
for the right reasons

And I’ve cried when I prayed

that I cheated

Pride is a lot of weight
