This is a really great book. I'm in the ninth chapter of the book and it is real personal and candid. Details his early life and his views on race in America.

I picked up this book, as a Kenyan, mainly for what he had to say about his family ties and background etc.
I enjoyed it. It dragged in some places for me, but it was a decent read on the whole.
Just in some places? Overall it was just ok-his overall story is interesting tho
i mean just how he was raised and where he was raised..u don't see that often so it was interesting to me-plus how he actually got started doing community activism from his first speach at the rally in school, to how he got started in chicago was all interesting to me...i just thought i could have been wrote in a better manner maybe or in a more attention grabbing manner

If you are interested in race and politics you will like the book
