Default Tipping Point

Finally finished it. Took a really long time cause I can't finish books for the life of me (unless it's for school). So what did ya'll think?

I like it alot. Nice theories, I like how psychology studies are used often, and I like the section on crime in NY, cause im into urban issues.

Pretty much, as someone whose into Urban Studies and Psychology, I found this to be a really good read, and definately something worth thinking about if you're into those fields.

Just finished reading this a little while ago also. They had it as a selection for the book club at my job. Yeah I was feeling the whole section on the change in crime in NY. That broken windows theory was kinda crazy. So I guess enforcing a curfew in NYC would make the neighborhoods a lot safer. Makes you think twice about all the stupid policies that Bloomberg has.

I was thinking about how it would be cool to have a tipping point show where they talk about different tipping points that are going on today. Like how American support for the war in Iraq just went opposite. And the potential of the bird flu pandemic Tipping.

The story about the HIV virus happening 50 years ago was pretty crazy too.

If you're into socioeconomic theory though you should check out Freakonomics. Its another book like the Tipping point that talks about different things like how the average drug dealer only makes minimum wage.
