some of mine have also, and im not even that old... they dont like anything thats dropped lately (nor do i) and have started to listen to alot of rock and soft rock shiit... most of them will listen to older things though, but not the ones that have only listened to hiphop for couple years ... now im not even really listening to alot of newer stuff, im just coppin alot from the 80s and early 90s...

i feel like an old man tho trashing majority of the new stuff that comes out and saying, damn, i wish the music would be more like it when i was growing up...

yeah..

People still listen to ghostface, Jay, Doom, Nas, Saigon, etc..

But its mostly digging and trying to find gems that we haven't heard before.

Almost all of my friends are, but it's to a lesser extent than what it used to be. I guess when I think about it, I probably fell off a lot too.

i will always be Hiphop but if you are referring to the music YES i have found myself and my friends exploring other genres. Not just cause the current product is mostly garbage (IT IS) but I guess as you get older you want to expand your horizons

I dont know anyone who liked hiphop and then stopped liking it, that concept is foreign to me... tastes change, horizons expand, but your sh1t is still your sh1t, even if you're not geeked out on it like you once were.

Yep!!!

Me and my circle still enjoy large amounts of hip-hop in our music collection. Now, that we are older, it's a lotta things we can overlook as far as lyrics and musicial quality and just enjoy it for the sake of enjoying it.

When we were younger , we spent time trying to decipher the messages, if there were any. We don't have that kind of time now.

Plus as you get older, you find yourself being drawn to other genres of music like jazz, rock, blues, new age, etc.

im starting to listen to conservative talk radio...like i cant listen to hot 97 or power 105 at all...and if theres a sport game on radio while im away from tv(driving) that has my intrest i will tune in also...i feel'n some the new stuff but its wierd cuz i remember when i was a kid i use to think older folk was corny listen'n too they old school joints...now i think the younger cats is corny for front'n and floss'n like they part of they favorite rap crew (dipset) (g-unit) (d-block) etc. i mean when i was young if you had a gucci suit and some fly addidas you was a drug dealer or wore that shyt when your 20+ deep with family or friends..now these young cats rock 150 doller sneakers and walk dolo in the streets safely..in the mid 80's you was walking home in your socks,if they where official nike socks you walking home barefoot...im not rant'n or anything cuz i understand kids must follow trends, but these new generation hip-hop kids sometimes could use a reality check cuz they worship cats that be front'n hard on the mic themselves
