Default Question for Muslims and strict Baptists

now it's my understanding that both religions are against the consumption of alchohol. if i'm wrong about the Baptists, then i'm wrong but please don't turn my thread into a "do Baptists drink or not" argument. this is my question: to anyone who's religion is against the consumption of alchohol, does this include cooking with wine/eating food cooked in wine? obviously, you can't get drunk eating chicken marsala, so i was wondering at the supermarket today whether a muslim or such would be religiously able to eat over my place on one of those nights.

does it have to do with the fact that having alchohol next to you while you're cooking can tempt you to drink it? or does the use of alchohol (like if someone else cooked it when you weren't around) have other reasons for being wrong beyond the obvious negative effects on the body when not cooked off?

ps: i'm not going to turn this into an argument once i get some answer i'm "looking for" or something. i'm honestly, genuinely curious. and i'd like to hear from Baptists and other religious non-alchohol people as well. more Muslims are still just as welcome though.

i always look at these rules from a logical point of view ... alcohol is forbidden because you it affects your judgement ... i have no problems with food cooked in a bit of white wine, because it has no effect on me ... same goes with medicine .. however, some take to another level with alcohol-free cologne ...
