Default Beck - 'Odelay' Appreciation Thread

I put in this album today and it brought back some good times for me. I remember buying this album when everything in hip-hop was a mess. "The New Pollution" is my favorite song followed closely by "Devil's Haircut".

Beck is a great artist over all.

^^ yeah love that - fave track is still 'Where It's At' - whole album also has a lot of good memories for me. Always preferred his acoustic stuff like One Foot In The Grave but this album was conclusive prrof that he wasn't restricted to one style. Underrated as a rhymer as well - he's no emcee but I liked what he did. Dust Brothers production too - was almost like a sequel to Pauls Boutique

I LOVE this album. My fav songs are Ramshackle, Where It's At, New Pollution, Novacane and Jackass.

My second favourite Beck album is Sea Change, I love his emotional acoustic stuff.

Personally I think Odelay is better than Pauls Boutique too.

Don't get me wrong Pauls Boutique is good, but I prefer the versitility on Odelay. It's more relistenable to me.

This is just my opinon tho.

what rock have you been hiding under?

for the record, Odelay >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Paul's Boutique.

I don't even see what all the hype is about PB, it's definitely a cool record, but i don't consider it a major benchmark of the 80's.
