3.1.2 jailbreak for ALL devices

If you happy on 3.0 though dont **** with this just yet


UPDATE:
Comfirmed working 3.1.2 on 3G - Factory unlocked phone

3g users that have 3.1 NO jailbreak or Custom IPSW:
1: Backup phone on itunes(make sure you have the lastest version of itunes installed)
2: Hit update(if you want to keep your music/videos/settings/address book etc) OR Restore(if you want to start with a clean slate). It will tell you the latest is 3.1.2.
3: After the update is complete, BACKUP YOUR PHONE AGAIN!!!!(Just incase you get stuck in recovery mode, you will be able to restore from this backup)
4: Close itunes. (also check task manager for "Ituneshelper.exe", kill it)
5: Get blackrain, open, click make it rain. ( will will say waiting for iphone.(On windows 7 it will freeze for a bit, your phone should then go into recovery mode and blackrain should then say 'running'.
6: Now, from experience it hangs here...The problem is that your usb doesn't recognize the phone because blackrain is trying to access it before the computer sees it!!! Kill blackrain, unhook phone, hold home and sleep button then release when phone goes black, this should kick the phone on. After phone reboots, start blackrain again, hook up phone, hit make it rain again. Should work now.
7: You should see George and blackrain should say done, wait for reboot. DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH THE PHONE!!! LEAVE IT ALONE!!! It should reboot by itself, it might take a few minutes!!!
8: Phone should be rebooted now with blackrain on springboard.
Note: It would help minus the 'itunes opening when phone is in recovery mode' issue, if while the phone is connected on itunes make sure the 'automatically sync with when phone is connected', is unchecked.


For 3gs 3.1 NOT jailbroken or Custom IPSW:

Follow every step except for step 6. From experience jailbreaking 7 3gs so far, there is no need to kill blackrain or itunes.

The 3G custom firmwares will not update the baseband. STOP ASKING!!!

TO USE: If your phone is currently pwned, just hold SHIFT and Click Restore and select custom fw. If not currently pwned, restore with a 3.0 or 3.0.1 firmware and use redsnow to JB. AFterwards, repeat first step.

DIFFERENT PARTITION SIZES: ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE SIZE SO YOU CAN INSTALL MORE APPS ON IT BUT LOSE STORAGE FOR IPHONE USAGE.

ACTIVATED: For people who are not on official carriers and cannot activate using itunes.
UNACTIVATED: For people who are on official networks that can activate using itunes

Info about Redsn0w:

Redsn0w is similar to ZiPhone and Quickpwn if you run across any old guides...DO NOT USE THESE ANYMORE, only redsn0w.

REDSN0W PROVIDES SIMILAR FUNCTIONALITY TO QUICKPWN.

If you want to build custom firmware files with more flexibility it is suggested that you use ‘PwnageTool’ on Mac OS X.

UltraSn0w has been released via APT (cydia and icy), you can use that to unlock your iPhone.
Yellowsn0w has been replaced with Ultrasn0w which has been released via APT (this means you will be able to get it via Cydia or Icy).
Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.

This app is suitable for the 3.0 release

Hell yeah old news on the way because if I dont put it on there, there will be problems. I also came across some things malfu*kers couldnt figure out on any forum. But like I said im bored so


And i HAVE made MMS work on 2 at&t phones, you cant have a regular plan though and it requires some smart talkin to a dumb at&t sales rep

my model firmware is "4.26.08" i have cydia on my phone so they tell me its jailbroke already (am new to the iphone), i havent installed any apps yet ( i just added a date plan like a hour ago) am on tmobile service

should i update if my phone asked me to? or will it "brick " if i do

DONT UPDATE. arent u using a 2g tho? im not sure how a 2g works. but if u upgrade to 3.1 it will unjailbreak ur phone and its a paint to get it back. they just now have a mac jailbreak for it. update only if u really have too

btw, true MMS is coming the 25th. bout fukkin time

umm theres alot of cool apps. if u have installus or are paying
app store : pocket tunes radio, madden is sick on the iphone, pocket god is fun, pocket tanks, ocarina, fast and the furious, iSpoofCard (can prank people and change ur caller id number and voice), paper toss, appbox pro (shows battery percentage since u dont have a 3gs)

jailbroken; music controls (lets u control your music w/o having to close ur browser or games ur playing) iquicksms (lets you send or recieve a text without having to exit any app)

anyways, those are some of my favs since missing with cydia and appstore. some of the jailbroken apps i mentioned are sponsored apps and cost, but they are worth it.
u can always go on youtube and text best cydia apps or apps to get some ideas. AND DONT UPGRADE EVER until you know there is jailbreak software for the new version.
