they were interviewing nader. he was quoted as saying "obama can either be Uncle Sam to the american people or Uncle Tom to giant corporations." the writing came off the screen and the reporter just looked into the camera and said "Really???? What was that???" and then he proceeds to rip nader and called him irrelevant. classic. and from Fox at that.....
You know, and I'm in no way taking this from black people.... but this is young white america's president too. The college students, the young industry/business/working men and women. The ones that grew up under families that may haven't not been around black folks....
White men and women ages 21-28 turned out in NUMBERS for Obama, and I just can't help but feel like this is finally our country. Kids on this site try to get funny, and call me 'old'.... but i just turned 24, and i finally feel like the united states of america is my united states of america.
And shlt, I'm in new york... my vote didn't really matter. It's my voice, my emotion that I feel is validated tonight.
I can only imagine what the young students in the Ohios and Pennsylvanias (battle states) of the country... and then when you consider the young black college students, the young black men and women in the work force, the ones that grew up with grandparents that picked cotton, that had to give their seats up, use different bathrooms, the ones with grand parents that COULDN'T vote at all for a large portion of their lives....

Powerful. I couldnt sum it up any better. I just got back from an Obama party with my work buddies and I literally texted everyone that I know too. This is one night I'll never forget.
