The Mets payroll is over 100 million for years. How does one correlate them to the KC Royals?! Do you have any perspective at all?
And you are a fair weather fan, as you just said you give them props when they do something you like and call them bums when they don't. That's the definition of fair weather fan. I never waiver, I like the Mets regardless of their off season moves.

So according to you, if you're critical of your team you're not a real fan ?

Looking like the Yankees might make a Move on Ollie. That mean the Mets MUST Sign Lowe or we`re stuck with Wolf and Pedro. The thought of that makes me want to vomit.
Yankees Rotation??
CC
Wang
A.J
Joba
Perez... Deadly deadly rotation best in the Majors by far. Jeezz.. Oillie will get 11 per.

Real fan? I don't get into that, if you claim to be a fan you are one. Just saying, consistent behavior is not a lot of people's strong suit in this thread. It's just head scratching. This is the sentiment I get from a lot of people's posts:
'I like the Mets, but they never do anything I want. But I still like them don't ask me why, I just deal with them not following my very unexpert point of view that has no knowledge of the inner workings of the organization/baseball with constant rants about them that the decision makers of the organization will never hear but I do it anyway.
If yer way more critical than you are congratulatory why are you a fan of the team? It's like being married to a bytch you cannot stand and doesn't listen to you. WTF, why?!

Its not what i want its what the Team needs.. it needs two pitchers.. ie Lowe stop messing around and get it done.. They need an OF but Omar says nope the offense is fine tatis/murphy will get it done... If u believe that then u must be nuts... 2nd base . O-dawg is sitting out there but Omar says Castillio is the starting 2nd baseman.. Now we have to deal with Slappy mchappy when the game is on the line... Argenis Reyes is not the answer... So when I complain i am not crazy.. Right after the signing of K-rod the story was they are lowering the payroll.

Why do you think you know what the team needs but the very people paid to know this don't? Is that a smart perspective? Be real one time.
And you seem to want every move to happen the day after the season ends. You have no idea what Omar has offered people or been offered or time tables of said offers. But yer soo positive what Omar should be doing? How does that even work?

Boras should be Meeting with the Mets later on tonight to disscuss Ollie and Lowe. Lets hope some deal gets done.
On another note: Carl Pavano to the Tribe in a 1 yr deal. ( For those that care) At lease the hot stove is heating up.

Citi Field: Where Homeruns Go To Die

http://www.amazinavenue.com/2009/1/7...where-homeruns

There is no way to know how Citi Field will play until the Mets actually play but still an interesting read nonetheless

I read the opposite and that Citifield is good for hitters when Wright, Evans and Murphy took secret batting practice there.

A reason why they want a sinkerballer like Lowe, cause of this "insider knowledge."

Also...per Heyman:

Quote:
Mets are on the verge of signing free-agent RHP Tim Redding to a one-year, $2.25 million contract with incentives.
So how would Pedro fit in if they wanted him back?

Redding agrees in principle with Mets on $2.25 million deal

If the Washington Nationals hadn’t balked at a trade for Willy Taveras a month ago, Tim Redding might be a Rockie today. But once he was non-tendered, becoming a free agent, the chance to chase a childhood dream trumped everything else. Redding, who grew up in New York, has agreed in principle on a one-year, $2.25-million deal with the New York Mets, according to a major league source.

Redding, 30, won 10 games last season for the Nationals, including three victories over the world champion Phillies. Rockies’ general manager Dan O’Dowd wanted to add Redding for depth, but Jason Marquis became a priority once the Cubs agreed to take on Luis Vizcaino’s salary. Redding can make an additional $700,000 in incentives for starts and $500,000 for relief appearances.

Free agent Josh Fogg remains a possibility, and would like to return to Colorado. But given the number of pitchers competing for the Rockies’ 12 available spots on the staff, he might pursue another opportunity as well.

the Wilpons purposely made the field larger just like Safeco and Petco cuz they dont wanna have to pay top dollar for HR hitters.

its obvious.

its a cost effective way to keep payroll down, and just win with pitching/defense/timely hitting.
