...how do I get my drums straight in reason? I feel like my kicks aren't good enough...and then when I try to change it, the rest of my instruments start drowning out. ...and yeah, I know about the whole mixing process and such...I just need to know some more advanced tips and want to hear some suggestions as to how to mix my sh1t better, and where to find some good hip hop refills.

Advice?

as far as the kicks go (in Reason)...when I used reason i would layer them. Try a relatively softer type 808 kick under one of your more organic (think 90's kick) kicks and it becomes more ful.

I would just experiment with as many kicks as I can, tweakin them til I hear a sound I like. Like Aje said, it's always good to layer em. Don't really fukk with Reason so I'm not sure how much help that'll be.
