Also, as far as abs are concerned, how many reps/sets should I be doing at one time?

Reps = number of times your lift/push the weight
Sets = number of times you do reps
Example:
I wanna do 3 sets of 10(reps) for bench. I go and bench 10 times, rest, bench 10 times, rest. bench 10 times, finished.
On workout sheets it'll look like "Bench 3x10"
