It sounds nothing like the first album at all, its horrible, disgusting...
It's not like their first record set some sort of precedent for halfway-decent music.

Maybe you're right, but the singles I heard from the first album sounded nothing like the NY sound you're talking about. And from what I've read about this album (not even gonna bother listening to it) PATD have moved onto aping the Beatles.

Their first album had two songs that I liked in a sarcastic sort of way. (Hate emo music as a rule, though.)
This new album is horrible. They're trying to be real serious songwriters or something, adding in more varied arrangements, using more instruments. The "aping the Beatles" comment seems accurate.
The results are atrocious, pseudo-meaningful songs.
This reminds me of how some people last year were begging everyone with taste to PLEASE give My Chemical Romance a chance because the "Black Parade" was actually "epic". Uck.

They're from Vegas I believe and they were literally Fall Out Boy with synths and a cabaret infatuation. Not completely sure where the 03-05 NY dance punk thing comes in. Because they didn't sound a lick like The Rapture, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, (early) Liars, or any of those other bands that got grouped together.

I guess I haven't heard them in awhile. Maybe it was just my biased musical tastes at the time that lead me to throw them into that barrel.

that first panic album was ill to me. i'm not ashamed to say i fukk with that album or the killers and other bands people love to hate. but this new sh1t is garbage. the first one was semi-clever pop music and i appreciated it for what it was. some teenagers making some quirky, kind of dope ****. now they wanna be serious and it sucks. fukk that.

Just finished listening to it..
I can appreciate the whole Beatles vibe tracks (even though a bunch of them straight up jacked some of the instrument stlyes), they are decent but the other songs are just run of the mill garbage.
Horrible album or not I give em props cause they're trying to evolve, try something different when they could have just kept on performing the same horrible emo pop they had done before and sold a million.
