Knowing that you were already repulsed by the food as an adolescent, very seldom does that change.

I'm not going to go so far as to say that TUNA is an acquired taste... but it's a great route for those who want easy access to protein.

But gauging from your reaction after sampling the sandwich, you took the exaggerative route because tuna doesn't promote that type of response. It was just a sandwich. You act as if your car keys got stolen and you were going to wreck havoc and pout at the playground.

Relax Willie.

People make recommendations... nobody forces you do eat anything.

Speaking of tuna...y'all really shouldn't eat tuna more than once a week. The amount of mercury that is found in this fish is ridiculous. Switch it up from Tuna to Sole, Trout, Salmon...you can have fish everyday, great source of protein and NOT have tuna everyday like alot of people do. In the long run, it's actually bad for your body.

tuna in a can :gag:

some seared/grilled tuna

the mercury levels also depend on where the fish is caught. i generally dont worry too much about it, but i dont eat it more than once a week. shark and swordfish are supposedly higher in mercury.

they are. tuna is up there too, though. canned tuna has considerably less mercury than fresh tuna (steaks, sashimi). and yes, where the fish is caught does matter, but it can be challenging to determine exactly where a fish was caught, and exactly how much mercury was in that particular section of the sea.

i'm pregnant now, so i can't eat tuna much at all. i'm supposed to have it no more than once every 2 or 3 weeks, but just knowing that it's potentially dangerous makes me not want it ever. but it SUCKS, b/c i live on an island, and got used to eating fresh ahi, sashimi, poke (hawaiian raw fish dish), damn near every day! and swordfish is one of my favorite fish, too. :(

i've been reacquainting myself w/ salmon, orange roughy, snapper, and sole. and also red meat, which i for the most part stopped eating altogether, but am starting to have once a week or so again now.

yea, it can be really tough trying to figure out where its from, and obviously there isnt some sort of a chart for what areas have more mercury in the water... it may come back to haunt me, but i personally dont worry (like i said, not that i eat it everyday).

ive had most of the other fish youve listed. if you like sole, try flounder. not too much different imo. ive been getting into sea bass lately... good stuff.

im going out for sashimi tonight. looking foward to that and some ceviche...

congrats on the future 7:30!

no extra mayo, tho... with black olives and banaba peppers only....that's perfection!!!:yes:
