Fucc how you feel about it, beeitch. I'm Taadow.
Teddy dropped the piano out from the Kane version, put in the horn sample, and said some fly chit. You used to grind on a hoe when that song came on. Fucc you lyric nerds. Grindin' on a broad to a phattass beat is hip-hop. Change your tampons.

song was never heralded ever, by any real bboy,...EVER.
just further exposal you would even mention on of the first culture stealers in rap history as well, that phuck: teddy riley
not to mention, that n!gga even did and ruined kane's career and then went and jacked his hall of fame record and single to further add to the damage.
man,..phuck teddy riley....
grand puba, lyte and a few others are probably throwing up right now.
not to mention, these clowns jacked a real record.
if you wanna go sample this record be prepared and actually able to execute a more skilled outing on the mic, ala LL COOL J's:

other than that, anyone mentioning, and praising the sellout versions, that got to disrespectfully rock this beat is some sh!t only a toy would phuckin do.

Wow, I came in here on some joke's shyt cuz I more or less assumed thats what the thread was on kinda.
Ain't No Half Steppin' is actually my ringtone on my iphone.
Both songs have their places. But to compare them is just. . odd. Apples and Oranges in the flesh. .. Completely different lane each one of these is in, although I do agree Ain't No Half Steppin' shoulda been one of those "Untouchable" samples like T.R.O.Y. for instance. Some songs producers should just know better than to f*ck with even if you're capable of flipping it "doper". If you look at most of the "flossy" videos from that point on they're basically that video with updated wardrobe. ..

violation as deep, as using the same loop to ain't no half steppin and making some bullsh1t, was already dissed and visited when dj quik ruined his legacy by doin it for amg, and further with 2IInone bullsh!T assinine pr comments on soultrain, of not being real emcees.
also,...riley had produced for kane and knew the hiphop ramifications culturally. but, just like usual fashion and his track record with previous bboys in the game:
puba
lyte
audio 2
kane
and more, this rnb producing culture stealer thinks it was just alright to do what ever the phuck he pleased. not to mention, this whole sh1T started at mca, where y'know who came from and thought it was cool to do the same thing to other untouchable songs that aren't to be sampled.
*IMPORTANT NOTE*
the ramifications culturally can not and never could bare those staple songs being disrespected by inferior skilled artist.
this song, rumpshaker was a direct violation of that, and the same thinking further actually killd't the culture of hiphop of being relevent later when puff, did the same exact sh!t with'
can't hold me down
heinously rendering the message, and all its cultural significance it was meant to be when released on sugarhill. even sugarhill was tryin to save face with the message and did so with rap as a genre reaping the cultural rewards.
rump shaker, is one of those songs that disrespected this culture to the core, along with its producer which continued and continues to disrespect this culture into the non draw it is becoming.
n!99az gon look around, and be some damn beatnics similar to jazz, or be mad while some
pretentious non punk motherphuckers look like punk and further defame it into some fa99 sh!t.
if it ain't no hiphop, no culture or no rap...how you gon even justify, even being a black man,
to begin with actually, after that.
now think about it, like gawd with a broom stick giving to the same dude who got it in streets is watching.
riley should get in the same fashion, and in any setting just like dude typecasted as the character who gets phuck'd up in every movie with the weird beard used to.

N!GGA BUT hiphop never went and was disrespectful to jazz. as a matter of fact, hiphop got jazz more note in that era because it made jazz a topic of conversation amoung elitist.
plus,....the problem with other genre's is they always had people who said something, and were ignored...that is why the cultural significance and their culture has been eradicated and disrespected.
i'm not tryin to see my culture turn into:
jazz
blues
rnb
simply because some ignorant culture stealer wants to just make money. hiphop never tried to just make money off of jazz, the same way these culture stealers did with hiphop.
so stop it.

and quick question....why are these songs even being compared really? wrecks n effecks had one hot single as a collective, i love the song and all, but when i think hip hop, that ain't the first thing that comes to mind, thats more along the lines of r&b, new jack swing bullsh1t that teddy concocted (aka, r&b succking off hip hop for commercial gain)

AIN'T NO HALF STEPPING
this is the one song, that if you wanted to know how to rap,..you only need this one phuckin record to really study to be really really good.
something no one on wreckx n effect, amg even bothered to do. the reason why you can't disrespect ll, is because at his height he got a loop from marley, and recognized the hiphop significance of the record. created some content, and up'd skills in his delivery in every facet to try and attempt, and argueably surpass this record.
ain't no half steppin is like top three end all be all records in rap history. if not top three, then at least four, and no lower than five when you take into account the contribution of this legendary genre setting record.
no n!99a would even be able to attempt to do an rnb track or something smooth if not for this record. do i have to mention that rnb track smooth sh!t is the basis for mostly all major label rap.
this record singlehandidly defined and solidified the slowflow, and conversational flow. the basis for all large generating rap music. even ll who had the largest drawing single rap record outta of genre, incorporated this sh!t into his skillset, after he was at his height on mama said.
that n!99a didn't have to do that, but because of the holy trinity of skills this record has.

btw...i hate Teddy Riley...he was good for R&B, but terrible for hiphop.....he had a disgustingly large ego to, just ask Aaron Hall...
I feel that way about Jermaine Dupri. Great for R&B(Usher/Janet/Mariah/Xscape) medicore to horrible for Hip Hop(Da Brat/Kriss Kross). JD may hit every blue moon(Money Ain't Thing/New Fab joint).
Teddy killed Kane and Moe D. Atleast there is only one Teddy Riley joint on Big Daddy Thing. The song did catapult Kane in the mainstream(Kane's career fell off after that though. :thumbsdow). I remember my pops being impressed by Kane when he performed I Get The job Done on the American Music Awards. He said the other day when Kayne performed on the Grammys. "He's no Big Daddy Kane" while shaking his head.

i don't know what party you been to, but djays when i was comin up would get straight checked on their playlist if they played some phuckin rumpshaker.
that was duck territory, and a surefiyah a55 whoopin at any culturized joint.
any joint i been to, when any ra, bdk staple record was dropped the house went mad. you needed to get out more, is probably all.
next thing you gon tell me, is a club full of newbie still don't go crazy when:
THE FIRST SNARES AND KICKS OF THE BRIDGE IS OVA, comes on.
them n!99az don't even be knowing that record like that, but the effect is still the same.

I hated Wrecks N Effects at the time. When you grow up on LL/Rakim/Kane/G Rap/DOC it's hard to accept mediore rappers like them along with Hammer. Wrecks n Effects were slightly better than C & C Music Factory :gag:
:ohmy::laugh: That was that bullshyt. That and Rico Suave. Wrecks N Effects had a couple decent songs. I liked rumpshaker and they had that new jack swing song other than that they were corn. Kid N Play were corn too,but they left their mark on hiphop(houseparty and class act

nah man, i'm from the hood in the midwest!!! we wasn't on some closed minded sh!t so i could play both song & ain't nobody sayin' sh!t to me!!! i ain't a dj myself but we used to close out park jams with rump shaker 'cause n!ggas knew what they was goin' back home to do!!! i got out a lot, but we was gettin' at chicks heavy back in those days so we probably just relate to the song better 'cause they was sayin' what we was doin'!!! likw i said different people get into different sh!t & to be honest if the bridge is over came on i wouldn't even recognize it!!! that's krs right, except certain **** i never really f_cked with him!!

kid n play, were an infinitely skilled group in comparison.
as a matter of fact, we can compare kidnplay's first single song and vid to the trash that was wrecknefx. at least kidnplay got play'd for people feelin betrayed at them continuing to sellout on the music side. wrexnefx were never in their league, yet people would like to have you believe that.
they kill this sh!t, and it got a sweet tee cameo...argueably one of the best female emcees ever too.
their dance routines were the sh!t, and current
you can compare their damn near skill surpassing back forth to double trouble, and others in the back forth rhyme annuls of lore.
you can't say sh!t about no phuckin wrecknefx. technically kidnplay were victims of their draw and being a first. other than that, they were skilled and dope as phuck.......in comparison to culture stealin;
and the nicknamed and rightfully so, incarnation of
the hiphopkiss of death, teddy riley's wrex n efx
