Day dreaming
Common telling me
Its common sense
Bringing me back to reality
Somehow redeeming
My life…
Temporarily
Changing my mentality
My sub conscious knows
Striving to be perfect
Wont demand peoples
Respect
Like to think
I’m kind of …mature…
Anyway
I’m sure
Perfection is way overrated
Maybe I overstated
These principles
I cautiously created
As I attempt
To be the bigger person
And see through your contempt
Repeating mantra like
‘Love me or hate me its still an obsession’
I’m allowed to make every mistake
In hope of
Learning some new lesson
There’s an emerging theme
As each time
My self esteem
Takes an extreme
Battering
But it’s cool…
Still got
My day dream
Still got ice cream
Still aspire to do something great
Still have my head screwed on straight
And I still…
Stay up too late
Still chain smoking
Still writing rain invoking…poetry…
Here we go…again
I can always create an excuse
But don’t know how long
My body can sustain
This abuse
Raise the alarm
I can’t stop this self harm
How can I ask for assistance
From this distant distance...
