OK, so I have this removable hard drive that I use to save my chops and kits (and some other things) on and every once in a while it changes its name fom E: to F: for no apparent reason and it makes it damn impossible to go back and tweak beats in FL because FL can't find the samples anymore.
What I want to know is if there is a way to go in and rename the drive back to E: when it switches itself to F: and vice versa? Thanks in advance

you should be able to right click on the hard drive and rename it like renaming a file or folder

do you remove it from your computer often that might cause the problem also

nah, I rarely remove it... and changing the name doesn't change the drive letter it's assigned (that's the first thing I tried)
you can change the drive letter. google it, and be sure to include the manufacturers info.

I knew my IT background would come in handy lol
-Right click the my computer icon and select "manage"
-expand "storage" and select "disk management"
-right click the drive in question and select "change drive letter and paths"
-I think you can take it from here...
