So I'm off my science fiction kick (pl2584 love ya baybee) and I'm back to reading about racism, politics and of course the feminist theory since I am a WOMAN!
I'm starting off with bellhooks killing rage: Ending Racism. I would love for any of you folks to join me with a discussion to follow...
Here's a link to what the book looks like!

I've gotta look and see if I have that one! I remember buying it along with "Ain't I A Woman," but I think I let my sister borrow it.

I really love this book! I am learning so much about race relations and how it helps and hinders the progress of AA...

Hey I can get my hands on it and we can read it together! I have a love and hate relationship with bell hooks. In come ways she can be so closed minded due to her life experiences but I think we all can be in a way...
Let me know when you get it... :)

I put it on order from my local library. I am interested in what she has to say as a feminist, but I am kind of leery about it, because I dont know if she is one of those type of feminist that include Black men along with the paternal hierarchy. I dont think we should be included in that.

With bell she pretty much blames everybody but it's good to read her prespective even if you don't agree with it. Cause it could change your views of the feminist theory...

Ooooh, I love me some bell hooks and Audre Lorde.
Since you are on a feminist theory kick, have you ever read "Transcending the Talented Tenth" by Joy James?
