Jay Electronica- though the name doesn't fit your vocab, don't get it twisted...son is nice.
There are plenty of MC's in the south that don't get the exposure they need. Personally this is another added ingredient to those artists. What is truly sad is that the garbage wanna be thug swagga sling crack rappers get all the promotion cause the south audience can't stand up and ask for kats like him. Imagine if we can hear more MC's from Louisiana that sound like this. Too bad Erykah Badu doesn't have enough influence in Hiphop to get his name known.

Time and Time again you seem to not understand. You have already made a claim he is wack. Now move on. Oh wait you can't cause you are trying to make a statement.
0 appeal to whom? You? Everything is marketable. You just need the right promotion and the right sheep. Look at half of the wack southern rappers. Garbage, 0 appeal but are marketable out to lames like you to buy.

C'mon kid, get with the times. There isn't one artists right now not using the net as a marketing tool. How the hell you think Sean Kingston got so big. The internet is the new music promoter. Admit you understand and call it a day.

I'm from the south and I was one of the first guys on this site to make a dedication thread posting links to his material. Everybody from the south isn't the same...we don't all just listen to lil boosie, young jeezy, and lil wayne.

see u got me confused man...i know how the game works i know the net is a big tool....BUT..like sean kingston or even a cassie they moved beyond the net and made a jump to the masses not just the net crowd..now if the n1gga electronica dude just wanna be the man solely on the net then he's good but if he plans on making the masses feel his music its a wrap

Son... The soul reason behind Sean K. and Cassie jump from the net to the radio and tv is b/c people heard it on-line first. The radio stations weren't going to play it until they got huge buzz and people requested it. Jay can make it in the industry with a single called "Hard to Get".

The south is scared of change which is why most dudes who come out don't have a chance to blow. They don't have a catchy hook or a jingle then they wack.
Just look at Chamillinoaire he had the south on lock in the early 2000s when he was rappin' about what the south wanted to hear. As soon as Cham stopped rappin' about his paint on his car and boppers dudes turned on him. Dude starting rappin' about real stuff and lost his fan base...really sad.
I always been on some other stuff though and got teased for what I listen to but I don't really care. I just tune into to the good stuff and ignore the bull****.
Cunninlynguists should be more popular than Webbie & Boosie period because they make better soulful music with substance.
I dont like him. I like Laine Sosa aka AR Mclane

is east coast mad cuz we have more successful rappers?
That's a common misconception. A Southern rapper will have his video played on MTV 100x a day, on the radio 100x a day and go double copper....it just seems like they're more successful because you see them more often.
50 Cent has damn near outsold every one from the South, by himself, in the last 5 years. And I don't like 50, nor am I from the East....my favorite rapper all time is Andre, but facts are facts. The only thing the South has been the most successful at is producing a ridiculous amount of one hit wonders.

It is possible to give less acknowledged artists props without taking the typical cliched condescending "you dumb n!ggas is too damn stupid to appreciate this real sh!t right here" approach...but I digress...
I fukks with Jay...I've been holding out for that rumored sh!t with Nas since a minute before Christmas...
