I've been pretty happy with Muscle Milk. And as far as taste, I haven't tried a flavor yet that was bad.

EvoPro™(Calcium And Sodium Caseinate, Milk Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Peptides, Lactoferrin, L-Glutamine, Taurine)
^^^muscle milk is a blend, not a true whey....caseinate is also the 1st listed so it has more of it by volume...but it sure is the best tasting protein of all time to me
optimum 100% whey isnt bad...nlarg2 gainer is good in chocolate

If it's around in your area,
grab Champion Nutrition's 100% Whey Protein Isolate. I go for the Cookies n Creme blend...

You need to re-evaluate why you're takin it. I've drank all kindsa nasty shiit. Soy protein, egg protein, etc. My end goal was to absorb protein pwo as fast as possible, so I didnt give a shiit about taste.
Just keep your mind focused and ignore your tastebuds. Hold your nose and throw it back if you have to. I always just buy the cheapest shiit possible.
I use EAS whey protein and it helped me gain 40 pounds of lean mean muscle
LOL nobody fuccs with that gnc shyt?

I've been taking this unflavored kind I got from a local health foods store. I just dump a scoop into the blender when making a smoothie, so the taste (or lack thereof) doesn't really make a difference.

LOL I got some. I was just wondering because I was doing some search the other day and stumbled upon alot of GNC product hate. Anyway tastes fine to me. I got caramel chocolate and I usually add a little bit of chocolate soy milk to the water before I mix it. Seems to be working cause I've gained mass. I'm using creatine too tho.

question to you and others here....
Just getting back into the swing of things lifting wise... never used any supplements or nothing previously..just good ol fashioned garbage disposal appetite of carne and plenty of rest..... job schedule don't allow that no more so i finally copped some GNC weight gainer... have put on 10 lbs in my first month back... feeling good... question is though..should i be fukkin more with weight gainers or the pure whey protein... i'm almost out of the gainer...was thinking of trying the whey next... good move, right? and what should i REALLY be looking for in the whey? just whatever has the most amount of protein per serving?

*Waits for reply* The Pro Perfomance has alot of amino acids too. I don't like how much sodium it says it has tho. I'm hoping I misread something. lol

If you cant meet your caloric needs from food alone then weight gainers are a good way to go. You might still need the protein, though. Shoot for 1g of protein per lb of body weight (I weigh 200lbs, I try to get 200g a day). Take a few days to track what you're eating on fitday or somethin so you can see where you're at.
In a perfect world though you would just get all your calories from natural food but thats just not feasible for most people, myself included.
Just go for value when you're looking for a protein.

so..just dumming it down for myself... looks like i should be using the weight gainer pretty much as a straight food replacement/pre-work out meal/breakfast kinda thing... and then chug the whey protein immediately after my lift (which i've previously been doing with the gainer)... correct?

yeah that would be the best way to go about it. i dont know how much/what kind of protein is in your weight gainer so that may be good enough by itself. try to get 60g of a fast absorbing protein (whey, egg) immediately after your work out.
I use Six Star Muscle Fuel (chocolate). I has 50% of the DV protein needs and it tastes great too.

gotta weigh taste vrs. nutrition. what good is a whey protein that u aint gon use cuz it taste like **** ? on the other hand Muscle milk is lower quality and high is fat, so u might use it more, but u also aint helpin yourself as much as u can. If ima take that i try to go with the muscle milk LIGHT, they got a line and it still taste good.
EAS (the kid that said body for life company thats their actual brand name) has sum good quality ****, but other than their chocolate and their coffee one, i cant stand the other flavors. I still stick to those tho and its a good balance for me.
