How is Biggie more praised than AZ?

how is AZ not top 5 on everybody list, or at least top 10? it goes to show that skills aint everything, you gotta have skills AND commercial success in order to get respect even from the people who supposedly know hiphop and are 'true hiphop headz'. az is better than biggie and has had a longer career than biggie, how biggie considered a goat but homie aint? mind bogglin b. nas, hov, cube and pac is like the only nigs i couldnt put him in front of all time. maybe ll too, maybe.

Stupid question Az doesn't have any of the making of a legend there is no mystique around him. Biggie created a top 10 hip hop album all time, was apart of the the most documented feuds in music history, he was murdered at the height of his career not yet even reaching his potential.

Impact is huge in music and AZ really hasn't had any. He has some good albums but nothing I would consider in the same league as Ready To Die. He's not built for the discussion of greatest of all time he'll always be a guy on the most underrated list.

let me break it down real quick...i don't wanna seem biased or like i'm hating on sosa, cuz i'm not

but the bottom line is, AZ has no personality...he's nas, with even less charisma, nothing about his voice/flow or delivery make him stand out, lyrically he's ahead of the curve, arguably top 10 lyricist, but thats not enough to stand out in the minds of your average hip hop head

biggie...as a lyricist was good, not great, what he had tho was one of the most powerful and crisp deliveries in hip hop history, lyrically in 96, (my opinion of course) jay was already a better overall rapper/lyricist than big...but he didn't get the attention, because the n1ggas delivery and cadence were the weakest part of his game...as he has improved that aspect of his skillset, his stock and rank has risen, but at the time, rhyming next to big, made him sound like a girl lol

az, sounds exactly like he did on sugar hill..nothing wrong with that, but theres noting exactly exciting about it either, and his discography doesn't match up to him being anywhere near top 5, he's got a classic..and a good album, the rest with me as a fan are on the fence and really uneventful

i'd rather just listen to nas (lyrically tho...especially now, AZ > ESCO), his lack of charisma isn't as evident because his subject matter is less stagnant

biggie simply is a better overall MIC CONTROLLER than az ever will be...just based off his presence

biggie had hits to go with skills, thats how. talent will earn you respect, talent + hit records will earn you respect, admiration and praise, everything you need to be a great. talent aint everything, if that were the case pharoah monch and royce the 5'9 would be the goats. you gotta have hits and appeal and everything in between, you need the total package, az just has talent.

and he did them all well, you might argue AZ's absolute best lyrical songs were better than Big's, but he doesn't have the club joints

you could even claim Doe Or Die is better than Big's albums
