Kanye is stuck between the two worlds he wants to be in and they are clashing.

lol, i dont think the grammy's are about keeping with the latest remixes and leaked tracks...stronger was easily the best song for him to perform

stronger was the perfect song for the grammys....i feel like its time for krs to shut the fukk up...even if it wasnt hip hop...im tired of him questioning everything in music trying to make himself relevant...

whether you agree or disagree....krs is top 5 and a pioneer...if it weren't for him and those like him, the way we rhyme would have never evolved...he can say whatever the fucck he wants, you don't gotta agree, but he is at liberty to speak on whatever he deems important...and if you really think it's just to "stay relevant" let me know how many spins he usually gets for speaking his opinion....i'd say none

the average sohh person's common sense is damn near non-existent.
the nas hate has shifted to kanye loathesomeness and it's damn near outstanding how much hate seeps through these posts.
krs bitter after all these years, cementing himself as one of hiphop's elite and all people are going to remmeber him for is that atrocity of a nasal passage (or lack thereof).

Thank you for that diatribe. Anybody can speak on what they want at any time, you dont have to have credentials to do it. And credentials don't make your opinion any more or less important than anybody else's.
...and if you really think it's just to "stay relevant" let me know how many spins he usually gets for speaking his opinion....i'd say none
Doesn't matter. KRS-One won't pick up spins no matter what he does and I'm pretty sure he's aware of that. No, he just wants someone or anyone to talk about him. Speaking on Kanye, the biggest rapper in the world, in a negative light will get that to happen for you.

...see, that's MY thing. Kris should known better than to have said that "Flashing Lights" isn't hip-hop when he of all people is familiar with the history of the culture and how Bambaataa and Kool Herc used to use ALL musical sounds and styles when they spun at the parties back in the 1970s.
What really kills me is....he says that's not hip-hop then turns around and says 50's album is....?
Yeah, "Aayyo Technology" is a certified street anthem, Kris.:thumbsdow
And KRS is one of my faves ever to do it....but he was outta pocket with that one.

There's a youtube video of him doing an interview, and that's where he said it.
Look it up for yourself. It was previously debated on this website ad nauseum a few months back, so you're late.

there's no denying he's a pioneer and a legend. but that doesnt give him a pass to say whatever he wants. he's as big a crybaby as everyone says 'ye is. "boo hoo, thats not hip hop.." blah blah blah. its like he doesnt want the music to progress. he wants to keep the music the same way it was back in the 80's. that way he can stay relevant. thats awfully selfish dont you think?
besides. didnt KRS do a song with ye? now he bashin' him?
krs 1 got sonned by nelly and hasnt recoverd..his opinions are null void

Flashing Lights was 1 of my fav jantz on the album... wtf is KRS talking about? What makes this song not hip-hop? True KRS is a pioneer and has much respect from me... but his opinion isn't always fact.
Kanye is a true hip-hop performer, and it's good to mix different sounds together... more artists need to do what he does to break the monotony of "snap and pop" music...
lol at people arguing when I'm sure Krs didnt say this (even though I am sure he would say something like that)

Krs was a mentor in many ways yet to HATE on Kayne for pushing the threshold, trying to keep what he feels hip hop relevant..is b.s.
It was the Grammys...wtf.

KRS One when given the spotlight, is very liable to say something a little retarded.
That usually doesn't bother me about a rapper, but he's the self righteous type so it's just annoying.
He should cut back interviews and public appearances to... none.

That sh1t aint hip hop...Just cause someone spits a rhyme over something doesnt make it hip hop. Kanye's wants to be a pop star(not a hip hop artist)....sh1t he is now and in doing so he has abandoned the spirit of which hip hop comes from. On the real NO ONE in hip hop should give a fukk about a grammy. The ppl who determine who wins have no understanding of what good hip hop is...so why would there opinion or award hold much weight?! Kanye's sh1t is TOO OVER produced now...all shiny and sh1t w/ no edge. How you go from wearing Polo rugbys w/ cuban links to dressing like godamn Mr.Furley from three's company(someone said this b4 and its perfect)?!
Neon lights on your jacket sun?! Word?! What fukkin' lame!! It's messed up too cause when CD came out I thought this is a dude who loves hip hop, I'm happy for his success...That he can blow doing good hip hop(minus work out plan) w/o the gangsta sh1t...I thought he would keep that torch...But nah he's just became a present day MC Hammer minus dancing. And where I'm from NOBODY fukked w/ Hammer..he was a joke that we didnt consider hip hop...Only time you heard em' was by request at a block party or somethin'...FROM SOMEONE'S OLD ASS MOMS!! And trust everyone would be disgusted. Fukk Kanye, keep making music for the Jon Mayer, Maroon 5, TRL crowd fahgit!!
hiphop culture is on its death bed anyway, krs one should go home

yo seriously all you people do is ***** and moan
if Kanye sold 5,000 records he's a flop
now that he outsold 50 Cent and won a grammy he sold out, Stronger's wack, it's not hip hop
you all should just kill urself and put urself out of your misery

Basically.
And all at the same time, ain't NONE of these niqqas buyin' sh*t, so their opinion on sales one way or the other is irrelevant.
And lol @ Kanye not bein' hip-hop cause he didn't come out with a t-shirt on with 300 niqqas onstage with him lookin' at the audience like they gettin' ready to rob 'em.
But alotta niqqas on here don't really know about hip-hop anyway... half of em only know about whatever 90s albums they d!ckride and what such-and-such said on the latest mixtape. So I would expect a thread like this.

I've forgotten more hip hop then you fahgits have ever known. No one said anything about 300 ppl or t-shirts. But c'mon did you see this lame last night?! I mean for real?! I don't knock a cat for wearing a blazer...Kane and Slick Rick plus others did for years. But when you look like a fahgit from greenwich village I can't c/s that. I can't c/s a cat going from making sh1t like "2 words" to "stronger". Not this year or any year!! And it's not about Hip Hop being stuck theres always fresh concepts to touch on but when your
sh1t sounds like its more suited to be played at some frat party than in the hood at a block party then it aint hip hop to me.

KRS-One didn't say that and if he did then the thread starter needs to put a link up or STFU
yall take these aliases on SOHH seriously when they create their own imaginable made up quote and put a one liner in...... what happened to having proof?
any thread that doesn't have links backing shyt up should be deleted

I see that reading is NOT fundamental in Canada.
How many times do I have to tell you ****ing retards...it's on YOUTUBE..they interviewed him outside the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxPm0TZcqHU
A routine typing of "KRS Kanye beef" into google pulled that up.
You ****ers are stupid as ****.
