we all know that Jay was talking about 50 (and his fans) with that line and it's some punk shyt for real. Even in most other situations outside of 50's shooting "respecting the shooter" is some PUNK ASS SHYT

here's why;

1. in 50's situation. fans don't respect that 50 got shot, they respect that he ate those bullets, survived and came back to achieve major success (and to some extent destroy his previous enemies aka. Supreme and Murder Inc.). Anybody can get shot but not too many come from that to make hundreds of millions of $$$ and everything else 50 has done.

2. also in 50 situation, the dude that shot him was a punk ass hitman that would murk somebody's mother for the right price. Jay respects that??? that's some bytch ass shyt :thumbsdow

3. what about the cats that murked Stack Bundles??? some bum ass criminals who hated see son shine and wanted his chain gets respect from Jay too??? fukk that I respect Stack Bundles doing his thing and trying to do his thing for Far Rockaway WAAAAYYYY more than the punks who took his life

4. what about the hitman that killed Big??? that's Jay's brother right??? and he respects the crooked police officer / hired hitman that laid to rest New York's best??? :gag:

but lets be real ...ever since 50 got shot ...all of a sudden it seems as if getting SHOT was cool. Its a difference between getting KILLED and SHOT.

Cam got shot up and he was on the radio almost the next day sayin "the shooters did a sloppy job" blah blah ...bragging about the fact that he lived. It was COOL for him to use the fact that he was shot to his advantage.
And it goes past Cam'ron ....in popular culture getting "shot" is almost a cool thing. Think about it. How many rappers/people period have come out and admitted to being shot? People walk around with their bullet wounds out in the open nowdays.

Everybody wants to eat up bullets and walk around like they 50 cent now wanting RESPECT ...thats lame sh*t....I can get my nose in the wrong business and get shot tomorrow and survive and walk around like I'm superman and people would respect me and sh*t.....in this day in age...its fukked up on both ends....the shooters and the shootee's

I can understand the line because of where I'm from, cats who used to run the block had to be respected, even if I had a personal dislike to them, similar to mob cats and how important respect is in their world.
