yall remember the boxing gym thread.
i just wanted to update yall because you guys wanted some feedback.
first time was mad intimidating but i've now been there 3 times in the last 4 days i cant get enough.
one trainer told me to lay off the weights because it'll slow me down.
and i already feel fitter.
i was just wondering if you guys could tell me or link me to some useful things i could try to do at the boxing gym.
right now they told me to stick to basic shadow boxing + bagwork and a bit of pads as well as getting fit via skipping + abwork and other calisthenics.
shadowbox + run. Most demanding thing ever, infact I just did it.
Clap Pushups, punch trees, have a friend do wheel barrow position with you and climb stairs on your knuckles with just tape on your hands. (Learned that from discovery channel) Let someone punch you in the stomach for 30 seconds at a time. With breaks to catch breath. Have someone slap your stomach while doing crunches.
Since I train for mma, I drop elbows for 10 minutes straight, followed by shadowboxing ( striking is not well respected because most fighters are horrible boxers ). Then I go into front heel kicks, then side heel kicks, then high heel kicks, then low shin kicks, then mid shin kicks, then high shin kicks. I also do a lot of stretching.

I'm into the speedbag and light sparring.
I got my two hands going on the speedbag. I'm working on getting it faster.

Or do you go in chin deep and shadow box under the water training everything shoulders down?

if this your first time sparring just expect to get hit alot,be off balance, arms hurting, out of wind, and standing with your guard up doing nothing
if you come back in to do it again then you know you a fighter
i'll throw you a couple tips tho
dont throw your punches with full force,it'll just tire you out
work on getting off with your jab
catch his jabs
move around and dont stay in one spot
You doing any roadwork?
How many rounds you going 3?

probably just 2 rounds..
i kinda sparred him before.. he's younger and smaller than me.. and i followed your advice the first time.. i was just trying to move and jab.. and this dude was swinging at me full force.. probably threw around 4 times more punches.. with his head down.. bad technique just basically trying to hurt me.. but he hit me more thani hit him.. and it basically looked like i got my ass beat.. what should i do this time around

if he throwing the punches wild you should be able to see them coming cuse he is prolly telegraphing them
so when you see his arm go back hit him with a quick jab or double jab,you gotta hit him with it right before he throw his punches and he wont throw nothing
throw a combo and jab out when he try to rush you
if he keeping his head low throw some uppercuts at him and following up with a stright right
hitting him to the body will slow him down and he wont throw as many punches
