i drink true mass from bsn. It retails for about 55 but i work at the gym so i get a pretty good discount on it. Also best post workout meal would probaly be either chicken breast/tuna mixed with some carbs like wheat bread and or rice.

immediately after a workout, you want to spike your insulin levels so its good to ingest a shake with a good source of dextrose. I usually make a shake with gatorade (powder form), water, and a banana.

then, once i get home, i begin preparing a full meal with protein (chicken, beef, etc), complex carbs (brown rice, potatoes, whole grains, etc) and good source of fiber (i like green leafy veggies)...its really up to you, as long as it fits into your micros.

hope that helped

I think the best thing is a good protein drink right after. Its more effective @ that point anyway. I have Optimum Nutrition mix drink. 24g of protein per serving.

I work out at night as in I have already ate all my meals for the day the next stop is bedtime. So what I do is take a muscle milk rtd before sleep as I find them to have a good mixture of fast and slow carbs and it also has fat in it so that my body can feed as I sleep.

Protein shakes are the best.

Gatorade is trash for getting hydrated, it's sugar water. Go to GNC and ge some GOOKINAID. Best stuff ever. It has ingredients that cause the water and eletrolytes to be absorbed faster and glucose for energy. Glucose is sugar, but it is not high fructose like gatorade. If you're drinking gatorade you might as well be drinking soda
