I love the beatles
they are probally the only 'non' hip hop I listen to.

Allllll the beatles ish, from when they started to when they broke up and afterwards, I am a avid beatles fan. Jimi is cool, but the Beatles are crazy too me, they were a bunch of pot heads that wrote crazy good music...

I like em. The funny thing to me about hardcore rock fans that are all about Zeppelin is alot of them talk down on hip hop in regards to "stealing" others' music, but Zeppelin did just that for some of their biggest hits.

I like Led Zeppelin but I'm well aware that they're a far more traditional band then they're given credit for. They covered a lot of songs and had a lot of artistic license in using other people's work. My friends from High School got me into them but I only really started listening to them in 2006. I'm Australian. I love all the aspects of classic rock, the sh!t that was experimental alongside the hard blues stuff - we've got a huge pub rock scene in Australia that's essentially hard blues music.

Again, Led Zep aren't all they were made out to be and it's only recently that their credits and the copyright have started reflecting that.

Jimi Hendrix was great. Awful voice but what a fukkin' guitarist. His band is no joke either.

I like Zepplin.

Not really sure how I got into their music, but when I heard a good rock song from a band I usually wanna hear more.

My oldest Bro and Sis grew up in the '70/80s and I heard a lot of rock, from classic to metal.

Metallica, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Jimmy Hendrix even Credence Clearwater Revival have some dope tunes for a hillbilly band.

Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Slayer lol

I heard all thart **** growin up in the 80s and when the 90s hit a lot of the rock I did like stopped. Grunge took over and I never got into that and then geeky rock, now its a mix of Grung/punk/geek/soft metal that dominates rock now, and I don't really feel it. Maybe I hear a song I like here and there.

I like a lot of rock but pretty much all of the rock I like is pre 1992.

Hip Hop fans try to distance themselves from rock cuz they think its taboo or somethin but without all the classic rock that dropped from 1965-1991 (minus those terrible hair bands in the 80s) hip hop may not be as influenced as it was. As far as trying to make really good songs and respecting the culture as an art form and not just an image.

Zepplin IMO is one the best musical acts of all time. This coming from a Rap fan who eats, sleeps and breathes Hip Hop. I love underground hardcore rhymes, dope hard beats. Zepplin just made good music period. And I don't expect anything less from my favorite Hip Hop artists. Good music.

hair band music is the only genre of sellout music i can actually still listen to, and not puke and vomit from discust.

like i can listen to journey, and one of my favorite sellout moments although not hairband but just as heinous is:

kiss's
i was made for loving you, babeee.

which is kiss doin disco,..and even though kiss fans would strangle me lifeless, for posting it...that song is still one of my favorite alltimes songs by them.

rock was built off of covering because it requires playing and perfecting the mechanics of an instrument.

rap was made from sampling, and jack'n breaks, on production,...and an original emcee, emcee'n which is always original.

jimi's voice is pimpin!

one of the dopest vocals in musc period,..ever. sh!t was that nighthawk black radio personality type deal,...his vocals were completely classic.

i only list rick james speaking and singing voice as higher on my list when it comes to straight pimper-ish vocals...that definately are those vocal tones, that essentially drives women crazy about being a black guy and even being able to talk.

:hmm:

Got into them, believe it or not (a travesty really) through Wolfmother. I'm a big fan of theirs, and when I heard that Wolf was very similar to Zep I DL'ed a few of their albums. I recgonized a bunch of the songs so I guess they are ingrained in pop culture. I would probably have become of fan of them anyway, it was through proxy I discovered them I guess. I really really like them.

I'm not really into the whole 70s/80s rock scene, more because of ignorance than un-interest.

Love 60s bands though.. Beatles Stones Kinks Motown everything,

I'm not fully immersed in Zep right now, I want to familiarize myself with Sabbath/Floyd/etc after as I've listened to some of their stuff and really liked it as well.

well when its generally accepted that an album is classic, or basically undisputed it becomes much more than an individual opinion

no one really argues whether illmatic is classic, its not just a personal opinion

to claim their albums are "Undisputed Classics" is reaching, 6 Classics in a ROW?

I am just curious...hollaI love Zeppelin. I got into them when I was in high school ('95 - '96) because my cousin who's the same age was really into that Q104 stuff (Dead, Credence, The Doors, Zeppelin). I was just feeling Zeppelin the most out of all those other bands. Don't get it twisted though, I really dig The Doors and Jimmy Hendrix and the like, but for me, Zeppelin is the definition of Rock & Roll. I'm 100% Ukrainian (but born in St. Barnabas in Jersey). I love me some classic rock and definitely like Hendrix.

PS - I'm aware of all the talk about Zeppelin and them stealing/borrowing stuff. That don't bother me at all. People get ideas from other people ALL the time.

It don't get no better than Zeppelin.

Yes, very much

Well, I remember liking "Kashmir" from an early age, but I didn't know who did it, then I found out it was Led Zepplin and got into them by listening to the classic rock stations

What nationality are you?

Well, my nationality is American, but I'm Black racially

hair band music is similar to eighties climax, intro bmovie scored goodness.

it is like that moment in transformers the movie, the animated version when hot rod transforms,..and the music comes on in that weird teased up hair with stocking break...and he transforms and rides off. or when unicron is threatening to attack, and hotrod opens the matrix. i mean it, is the backbone of bad but good eighties, late seventies bmovie scores, and entertainment.

can't hate on that. all of us, were raised on that synth, and eighties big hair music from movies.

i would say they aren't consistently as edgy album to album song to song, but they are edgy wholeheartedly if you take their whole discography into play.

i mean zooropa just alone is edgy and some songs people would view as slow and plodding are edgy sonically vocally, and in content...as well.

on the real,..it is just some records generally as fact are regarded as classic. most beatles, and zep records from start to the heart of their discography are defined as genre defining and lengthening material.

it just is fact,...just like you wouldn't be able to dispute an aerosmith, or stones fan.

maybe a nin fans could be disputed on their classics. but an album like my bloody valentine, and filter's first album is just a classic, cause of the sonic advancements present in execution and engineering.
