Sicilian Spit

Spit:
A dark figure lurks through the gallows, smirks in the shadows
Comin up on the chamber of the jerk that he'd hallowed
Berserk and callow, it's said he knew not what he did
But when it came to his leader he really knew not what he hid
This kid flew up on the grid with inexplicable powers
Showed up at our subject's house at inexplicable hours
The light flickers as the wick is devoured
He moves closer to the cell, lookin sick with a scour
He throws up once, wipes his lip
Hopin for a bunce but still he ripe to flip
Starin at the man with whom he'd bartered his soul
All for a shot at eternal bliss - i.e. the promise of gold
In his garments he holdin a blade the length of his hand
When purchased he thought he'd bought it for to strengthen his band
But his shepherd's plan was a scam and he's mad cuz he knew this
And as he starts to wield the weapon he hears "Judas don't do this!"
The Bible always speaks of God's mysterious ways
But what if Jesus Christ was simply a delirious stray
The Good Book is bunk, all because a crooked punk
Hooked disciples, made them love him, then he shook the monks
Judas:
Tell me, Nazarene, why should I spare your life?
And choose your words carefully or else you'll bear this knife
Jesus:
My son, I know I warned you twice that you would betray me
But that didn't mean I wanted you to come and fillet me
Judas:
But "anointed one" come, you're the one that has played me
For a fool, I'm not a tool, what was the point of this J.C.?
Did you want us to pay thee, or simply obey thee?
My vision's all distorted, foggier than a gray sea
Jesus:
Pardon me disciple but what was my transgression?
My only aim in this life was to leave this sacred land blessed
Judas:
You act like your existence was for teaching man lessons
You told me and 11 others to even ban possessions
But I heard you the other night so now you've been exposed
And I'm not leavin here until the whole truth's disclosed
Spit:
Christ's glance hit's the floor as he realizes he's called out
While he readies himself to explain how his guise was brought about
The Bible always speaks of God's mysterious ways
But what if Jesus Christ was simply a delirious stray
The Good Book is bunk, all because a crooked punk
Hooked disciples, made them love him, then he shook the monks
Jesus:
One day I met this hustler in the marketplace
Waitin his turn to gamble, had me mark his place
Won him some money then he came back with a proposition
Workin for higher-ups he must've got permission
He said "Son, I'm just fishin but you look dirt poor
Shouldn't we all inherit the fruits that the good Earth bore?"
He told me of his plan to get up out of the slums
I was his vessel and this is how the journey begun
He and his rabbis had sponsors within the Roman Empire
And sought to circumvent the Torah and form their own Messiah
They made me over heavenly and altered my speech
So I'd never falter when I sauntered to the alter to preech
Now I spoke real lyrical, but it wouldn't suffice
So we staged fake miracles and forgave sinners for vice
Not a virgin, I got a daughter, and I never talked to the Father
And it was an optical illusion that day I walked on water
The Bible always speaks of God's mysterious ways
But what if Jesus Christ was simply a delirious stray
The Good Book is bunk, all because a crooked punk
Hooked disciples, made them love him, then he shook the monks
Judas:
How could you do this to us? We worshiped the ground
You walked on, now talk on man this sh*t is profound
Jesus:
All I ever thought about was freein the Jews
And at the same time betterin life for me and my dudes
But somebody on the inside switched the game
Thought they could do without me and my mystic fame
A blistered frame, for me that's what lies ahead
By this time tomorrow I'll be crucified and dead
Judas:
All this time I thought you were divinely spawned
But now I understand that you were just a mindless pawn
Jesus:
Is all your kindness gone? Wouldn't you say I was used?
Could execution be construed as overpayin my dues?
Judas:
There was a time when I would have sacrificed myself
To save you, but now I see you're just enticed by wealth
Here's some advice might help - before you die, repent
And ask God for mercy for the way your life was spent
A dark figure lurks through the gallows, smirks in the shadows
Comin up on the chamber of the jerk that he'd hallowed
Berserk and callow, it's said he knew not what he did
