What is with pro-nas, pro-lupe fiasco threads getting 1 star?

Why do anti nas/lupe threads get 5 stars?

Why do some threads just get deleted all together?

How Come when I want to create an open dialogue about this and other things, my thread is deleted?

Why is the spot under a czar-like iron fist rule? Do the people not get any say?

This isn't about constant spamming of nas threads, this is serious betrayal of the people that PAY SOHH MONEY to ADVERTISE their albums and have the moderators BACKSTAB these people by one starring and killing all buzz on a very large, and important forum.

You upper-level moderators should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this to continue and if it continues on further, will be met by both lupe fiasco's and nas' advertising departments.

Based on a previous discussion, I don't believe that mods aren the only people who can star threads.

I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I move many of the anti- threads to Beef Zone or JBO, as many/most of them are childish attempts at shock threads.

If threads are duplicates or just plain nonsense, then sometime I delete them, though most of the time, I send them to JBO.

The Spot is not really the best place to have a discussion like this...so that's why your thread may have been moved or deleted, though it wasn't me, so I can't say for sure..

Iron fist rule? You'll have to give me an example of that...we try to keep it a place where you can have a half-way intelligent discussion & try to keep the BS to a minimum.

I really don't believe the starring of threads does anything at all to help/hinder an artists buzz or sales. I think you're way off on that one. And again, it's not the mods that are 1-starring threads...

To be perfectly honest, I doubt any mod really cares enough about an artist that much, to rate threads on them.

Our only concern, is to keep the forums progressive. That just means seeing to it, that the forum is moving along without any nonsense that would discourage our good posters from wanting to continue visting the forum.

There are no new rules, so every poster should have a general idea of what's allowed, and what isn't. Basically, you shouldn't be concerned with how many "stars" a thread gets. What does that really mean at the end of the day? Nothing. You should focus more on just playing your part, in helping the forum move along nicely, in a positive direction.

one star for having a decent coversation in reply to another one that was mostly negative.

I dont think you've see any excuses in this thread. What you have seen are reasons as to why certain actions have taken place.

If your main worry is how many stars a thread gets, I feel for you. There are other ways to feel accepted, stars on a messageboard wont make or break you, seriously. But allow the mods to do their job, as we all will without a request to do so.

Don't try to make me out to be a child in need of stars on a thread. I just don't understand why something like this is going on. I could give a damn if my threads are viewed, stared, replied or whatever. I just don't think that the rating system was taken away for abuse and then abused afterward.

If I was a part of the people that run the site, then my concern would be merited, but since I'm just a poster you brush me off. Just bring it up to other mods, so maybe we can either enable stars or disable them for everyone. It's the fair thing to do.

does it really mean nothing? I think that you cool kids are trying to downplay this too much.. What exactly do you have to lose by taking away the entire function or giving it back to us?

And if it ultimately means nothing why was there change in the first place?

And why is that every moderator on this board is exactly like the posters in the spot? You make sohh out to be this harmless little thing that doesn't really mean anything and is essentially for pre-pubecent assholes to throw mud at each other about hiphop.

This board, maybe not to me or you, means everything to some people. Some people don't have lives, aren't cool, and rely on their posts on the internet to gain confidence within themselves. 5 stars on a message board thread may not mean anything to you, but you have to start putting the posters first.

I always wondered why it is that SOHH is continually in the same exact cycle as it has been since 2002 when the site started becoming lower and lower in quality, but appearently the posters are simply a reflection of the people in power.

yes, i realize that this is a rediculous thing to even be worried about, but it's principle and I'm always going to defend my principles.

either take the function off the site or give it back, it's that simple. Then there won't be any problems.
