It’s after the 1st of the month and the bills are way past due.
Choosing between water or light
Cause I gotta feed my child too.
I’m trying to do this thing right,
It’s hard with jobs that’s barely paying.
I know where the fast cash is, but it’s a route I’m familiar taking.
See I’ve put my head back on strait, though it’s fairly crooked,
Cause the past is always there
To pull me back into it.
God, please give me strength,
And hope for tomorrow.
I pray for better things to come.
A day when I don’t struggle.

Dope! A lot of us have been in this place. It's kinda hard to turn your back on a way of life you've known so long...well it was hard for me...but yet I know that this way is the better and safer way.....
