Were ring tone rappers like mims and soulja boy hired to try and assinate hip-hop or do we just have to sit back and watch hip-hop change for better or for worse?

MIMS aint a ringtone rsapper. Do you listen to music of just skim through it? You the reason why Hip hop is dying dyckhead.
By the way, it's changing and it aint Hip hop anymore. It's still urband music, but it's more like freestyle and electronic shyt nowadays.

nothing is wrong with hip hop. 2007 was one of the best years yet.
people tend to forget that there have always been one-hit wonders and wack rappers in the game. nothing has changed.

where do you think drum and bass comes from?

These kind of threads are funny 'cause people always get into arguments about whether this rapper or that rapper makes "real" hip hop. I don't like Mims. A skim is all I need to tell that, but I'm not going to sit up here and say it's not "real" or Soulja Boy is not hip hop. I just don't like it. All these threads really amount to is that the threadstarter don't like what's selling the most units right now. Que sera sera.

Jungle and
Drum and bass began as an offshoot of the UK breakbeat hardcore and rave scene of the late 1980s, and over the first decade of its existence there were many permutations in its style, incorporating elements from ragga, dancehall, electro, funk, hip hop, house, jazz, heavy metal, reggae, rock, techno and trance.

I honestly think it's pretty much done, I can see another few years of average sludge being released with very few stand out albums below the radar . . . . there's nothing innovative enough anymore.

You know how you can tell when hiphop is dead when you cant quote any more verses from your favorite rapper. When was the last time you heard a rapper say anything tight? There is only handfull of those rappers now a days....
Ring tones aint killing rap wack as musicians are....they aint saying nothing...

I completely agree. The internet makes it very overwhelming to find good artists because so many are now promoting themselves, but you do have to know where to look. And don't forget about live shows!
