You forgetting his verses with children of the corn?

And that 1 verse you referring to is better than Jay-Z's 4 verses

I'll give you that. Was Cam working with Children of the Corn in '95. If not I don't see how their's much of a comparison. Neither was doing much. Jay was dancing in the Hawaiian Sophie video.

Cam's COC stuff was far better from a MCing stand point. But Jay is better now, and has been for the last decade.

Since you're a Cam fan, can you explain to me why you personally rate him as highly as you do MC wise?

Cam's style has always been unique to me, but Im still not sure what it is that has some people feeling him alot more than others.

Well there's really three different versions of Cam'ron rap style.

His first two aren't really unique. It was basically just Big L/Lord Finesse meets Ghostface during his COC days. He was a heavy Wu biter back then

His COF was the skitzo stuff, SDE was when he was coming into his own.

Now it's still the same kinda rhyme schemes he's always had (multi-syllabic) but now it's just done in shorter stanzas, with more comedy.

I, personally, rate him highly because I've yet to be disappointed in any of his albums and he always brings something dope to a track rather it be lyrics, flow, delivery, comedic quotables...it's always something. I never leave a Cam track like "Damn, that was boring/waste of time".

My personal favorite Cam'ron style is during his SDE days or the beginning of The ROC (which are relatively the same)

Makes sense. I gave dude three "listens" and didnt see what the hype was until the third try.

I heard about COC but I never actually heard the material until very recently when someone on here put it up for download. So I wasnt even aware of Cam like that until around 97 or so when he started to appear on mixtapes and there were promotions for his album on Untertainment. Thats the first time I gave him a listen and I wasnt impressed at the time. Up until the deal with ROC he sorta wasnt on my radar, but I did kinda like that joint with ODB, Violence...

Second when alot of my boys got into Dipset and they had a little buzz, even over here. They had lots of material out, and because some of the Heatmakers beats were sounding a little redundant, and alot of the B-Team dipset cats turned me off, I sort of dismissed them.

But more recently, I think after Purple Haze and that Kanye track, I went back and listened to dude and decided I had been sleeping...
