I'm not aware of any known beef between Jersey and New York cats...

but what i do know is that when i was growing up in jersey.(middlesex county)..dem New York cats even my family members from NYC would refer to us as country...

my pops from brooklyn said it was the first place he ever seen "grass"... :laugh:

and whenever a jersey cat would do something stupid in traffic, the new yorkers would scream out of thier cars saying "GO BACK TO JERSEY YA BUM".........

I got love for NY. People I know all over Jersey (JC, New Brunswick, Irvington, the Burbs, cow country)...they proud to be from Jersey.

People from the city though call Jersey heads "bridge and tunnel" crowd (for obvious reasons). They just mad cuz it's quicker for me to get into the city from Hoboken then it takes them from out it Hempstead or whatever lol

When people in the tri-state get enough money to move out of the city but they need to be close to the city for work, Jersey is the best place to go.

Anyway, problem is proximity. North Jerz is so close to NY that the identity problem is expected. South Jerz is so close to Phily that they kinda identify with Phily.

I'm from Central Jersey...the REAL Jersey, in that it ain't no NY and aint no Phily. Just Jersey.

I been in LA for a few years now and I say I'm from Jerz and peeps know better. I get instant respect. If you were to come out of NY, peeps here would laugh and clown you for Snoop knockin over the buildings. I notice a major difference when I say I'm from Jerz.
