The west was more then relevant in 2006 delivering dope albums, getting in Forbes (Ice Cube had a write up about his independent hustle), had like 4 gold records, and collaborating with a lot of people on their albums. Ya'll dont hear me though :laugh:

The West bossed up in the late 80's/early 90's because it's sound was so different. It's not that way anymore. These days, every west coast artist that comes up tries to sound formulaic so they can not sound western. They try to get with a major east coast producer, tour out east, etc. West Coast radio doesn't play west coast artists, either. You really don't have any new west coast blood that sounds west coast.

And those artists from the near past who do sound west coast (Bad Azz, Techniec, Tha Locs, Lynch, Suga Free, 4-Tay, Eiht, Spice 1) don't get play. It's a damn shame.
