dead or alive or whatever he had at the time ready for pac was not that potent anyway, jay should be lucky that pac died, his flow and delivery back then were really understated and probably his only real weakness, nobody would have cared going against some **** like against all odds, pac woulda clowned dude

Jay-z was a bum back then. Not even a blip on the radar. Pac saying Fukk jay-z was like him saying fukk chino xl. Irrelevant rappers. Jay's lucky pac and big died. He'd still be in marcy right now if they were alive.

The only difference is that jay-z was a real gangster, who knew real gangsters, he could just give dehaven a flat fee and pac would get x:ed

agreed. AT THAT POINT, jay wasnt in pac's league, even tho the dead or alive diss was heat. arguably, jay wasnt even top five in nyc at that point.

the war of words couldve went either way; pac mightve crushed him. or, if big and pac hadnt of died, it mightve been what propelled jay to king of ny status. ny was fiendin for someone to answer back at that nikka.

jay would've won

not b/c he's a better rapper, but b/c the "back in 88, when i was pushin weight, you was a ballerina, i got ur pictures, i've seen ya" line was most likley reserved for pac (with pac in a tutu pictures, and everything)

pac wouldn't have been able to come back from that

Here is the straight facts about this situation.

Hussein Fatal said Pac didn't have any real beef with Jay-Z. He said the only reason Pac addressed Jay, is because he seen him as a potential threat, and wanted to squash him before he blew up. I assume by "threat" he means someone from the East who was capable of responding to Death Row, although Fatal also said Pac believed one day Jay would be a star.

On the original version of "Hit 'Em Up" Pac dissed Jay at the end too....the Outlaws told Pac "nah, don't do that, this isn't really about him" because out of all the people dissed on that song, Jay would be the only one Pac didn't really any real beef with. So Pac thought about it and removed the Jay stuff, although later on the unreleased stuff came out anyway.

Here is Part 1 to the Fatal interview, I can't remember which part talks about the Jay sh*t:

 "Nobody had the heart to stand up to Pac when he was alive!"

Listen, if they were relevant enough for Pac to diss evidently somebody knew who they were....and Pac would've heard their diss. So they obviously didn't care about that when they dissed him.

true, short and funny.

everything pac said was true. like callin lil kim ugly. kim had to change up her face to look nice.
even tho jay comes off nice on song songs, there's just something about his voice that sounds corny. it especially comes out when he's under pressure like on the radio station with angie when he got ethered lol.
-------------------------------------------

some other dude says jay-z was a real gangsta and knew real gangstas. if he was that real he'd have gotten arrested and his **** wouldv been on smokingun website.
jay-z is a rapper. a coward that can rap real well about how gangsta he is.
dre is another one. he's a producer. but somehow labelled a gangsta producer.

lol @ you acting like *****s from NY were jumping at the chance to see pac, for one pac had so much love around the east coast that you might end up beefing with *****s in your own back yard going at him, from treach to BBC, **** the outlawz are from JERSEY

nobody was jumping at a chance to get their career ended...and jay did more than just become "the next big thing", he aligned himself with big at a time when they were throwing sublims, check out the vid with jay playing monopoly with big, az and all them "oh the west coast? i heard it's a lot of money out there, i'ma take all of it"

he never had no REAL beef with jay or chino, but he figured since they were on the low talking **** that he'd mention them, much like jay was doing 50, jay was not a real threat, he was an up and commer aligning himself with an enemy (50 used to be down with nas...think about that, now watch how quickly i drop 50)

jay would've won
not b/c he's a better rapper, but b/c the "back in 88, when i was pushin weight, you was a ballerina, i got ur pictures, i've seen ya" line was most likley reserved for pac (with pac in a tutu pictures, and everything)

1

lol pac spoke on his art school in interviews all the time, he never hid that **** from nobody and i really doubt that line was for pac, even if it was...jay did not have the VEHICLE to make that much of a dent, as i said his weak point at that junction of his career was his cadence, he was always a better "rapper" than biggie, lyrically he was much more gifted and complex than biggie was even then let alone now...but why didnt he blow until pac and big died?

for the same reason why dame dash...as a CEO had to be jay's hype man, he was lacking personality and presence, coming at pac on that laid back complex rap **** was not going to get him a win against the biggest rap star on the planet, he would have lost plain and simple

lyrically his diss would have been nicer...mich like drop a gem on em is lyrically > hit em up...but thats not what people would have been paying attention to and you know it, that would be like rakim going at ice cube, there was too much power and influence in pac's voice and flow to fall to someone who was a virtual nobody...without the association with big, i never woulda checked for jay so hard back in the day and i didnt really like him at all til i got older

So, my thesis after reading this thread is.

Pac is GOD
Mobb deep are 12 year olds
Chino XL is a wack chink
and Jay-z was shook.

Man, 3 pages of this b/s....let the man rest in peace.
We dont know what would have happened, we can only speculate.

The f*ck Jay-z line was in an interview. So Ja's story actually holds weight.

Chino XL responded to Pac, maybe if some of yall wasnt so concerned with what a dead man has to say you would clean the wax out of your ears and give Chino a chance, dude is dope.

Drop A Gem on them by Mobb Deep is probably one of the most underrated disses of all time.

Pac saw Jay-z as a threat, thats why he dissed him. If Jay would have came back he would have risen to fame either way if Pac or Big never died.

Thats about it.
