I always was a Big Jay-Z Fan and I know he is a speaker more than a Lyrical assain but after I heard this Freestyle I changed my mine about him even being better lyrically than Lil Wayne. I still know he is better overall but not lyrically.

us SOHH cats have developed a certain disdain to anybody trying to push their e-product on us.

it slows down the frequency of Jay vs Nas threads :argue:

dc1819

jay is a lyrical assassin, and not just some speaker or whatever people say about jay.

but anyway,.........weezy in comparison as a draw just made a more digestible jayz amalgamation. that skillset, incorporates and excludes the double entendre, and double meaning, and sublim's that jay uses. plus the skillset jay created, and had to use to distinguish himself, but still be incorporated into the draw of the type of rap he wanted to do, and that factually was some nas type ish.

nas's whole draw was built off that esoteric well read decypher god type sh!t, so jayz is pretty much the gangsta whitecollar criminal version of that.

weezy doesn't imo,........understand that draw or aspect, and imo that is why he is limited to be a biter because he doesn't portray to understand that about jay-z's draw, and where exactly jay-z's draw was defined from.

he starts at a point when gillie started at imo,.........and that is being a cookiecutter amalgamated on the surface ripoff soundalike of jayz. simply because that is what gillie inherently and wholeheartedly was biting and is as an artist. it is the reason why gillie never hit, because he actually lacked the bite conceptually, and in content. but if that same skillset could be executed, and oversaturated in volume is the whatif that weezy fulfilled to accomplish his current draw.

plus not to mention the change of the times, and the overrall starting liquid capital weezy can afford to have put to his draw.

so that is the reason why weezy is more digestible. it is because he comes from a draw that tried to dumbdown another person's skillset which wasn't original.......and one of the reason devoid of weezy's changin degree of delivery he doesn't deliver in that same get to the heart of the issue, and subliminal, double meaning that jay did. even jay was tryin to amalgamate nas, and imo still pales in comparison to where the original draw and mystique that nas created in his lane originally as an artist before he ultimately was forced to sellout and change for his greater good.

all that plus, weezy was starting from having capital readily available to sell his points and career at all cost. the point of weezy's career since 2000 has been to be involved and included in actual culture discussion as a credible artist. that i give weezy wholehearted credit for and in study jay z he did pick up that aspect.....the aspect that i can emulate someone and it will be a success, and i can profit if i spend enough material dollars and do the other things necessary to see its fruition.

well then you are retarded, or just real real real simple. lil wayne's lyrics are simple as hell, you shouldnt be happy that you're 19 and think he's dope, thats something you keep to yourself.

in all actuality though,...........jay is a dumbdowned version or alternative version of his contemporary nas.

, when you take into account the origins of jay sh!t, then you can tell that weezy just filled in the blanks and does a more gateway accessible version of jay. which is still a dumbdown version of nas.

1)that obviously wasnt a freestyle in the sense that it wasnt off the top of the head

2)i didnt hear anything "wack". the quality of the clip isnt all that but it just sounded like he was playing with a flow.

3)this thread is silly and you do seem to just be spamming to promte that lil website.Nas....why did you even mention Nas?why did you mention wayne?

well if you don't think nas or jay are anything special there's no need for this thread at all!!!! people try to use jay as a measuring stick for greatness & that's all hype anyways!!! there have been & will be plenty better than jay throughout the years!!! no need to compare wayne to jay!!! wayne's more accesible to the "new generation" & jay is more liked by the "old heads" but in the long run....... who gives a f_ck!!!! jay's not the god MC and neither is wayne!!! jay'san old man favorable to east coast & old men, not including me!!!

art i feel what you sayin other than jay being a dumbed down nas

how is he a dumbed down nas when jay can do things that nas cant...or never could do on the mic? his flow is far to fluid, even on reasonable doubt to be confined to some "nas biter", he created his own lane, he took the foundation that jaz, kane and slick rick gave him and expanded on it to make it his own

nas is a direct decendant of rakim, jay is of kane...other than the fact that they are top 5, musically they really have nothing to do with eachother especially early in their career, how does a "nas clone" maintain a steady stream of LYRICAL smash singles? nas has had his share of hits...but in comparison to jay? no contest, nas was playing catch up to jay around vol.1 and 2 and having to do his best jay impression to keep up with the rest of his contemporaries, he himself said that after a while he didnt feel special any more because there were so many cats doing some great ****, he felt he had to step it up and get a "hit" single to compete with the wu, big, pac and jay-z's of the time
