Nowadays we chasin the feeling
of makin a million and corporate execs just make it appealing, all the while they raping and stealin our culture
they vultures, and throw money in our face to conceal it
they makin a killing off us, and we embrace it by fillin the clubs with songs that have our hands raised to the ceiling…
we don’t reach for the sky instead, we teach to reach for that piece of the pie, eat it or die. It seems like were eager to try to buy things like “bling” cuz we told it’s the American dream
(replay)
its seems like... were feeding the lie when we sing about bling not knowin its an American scheme
whatever, it seems like rappers just wanna inherit the cream to fill their pockets, and put bread and their jeans its so cliché
rappers be trading 16s like its eBay
and then they get paid off the scheme, cuz they remake
the same tracks and passing em down to the DJ,
damn…rap is just one big replay…
[Chorus]
When the fans hear this they gunna put it on replay
DJs are gunna let the beat play each day
Rappers need to get out them chains like free slaves
So when the fans hear this they gotta put it on replay
*repeat 2x*
(so lets bring it back)
[Dark Prince]
BRING IT BACK to the days when rap what phat
BRING IT BACK to the days when rap was black
BRING IT BACK to the days when raps that wack were attacked and thrown off stage like PM Dawn
WE are gone if AM and FM songs lack the same knack they had when Preme was on
when Doug was Fresh and Run DMC was strong
the seamless bond between soul and beat is lost
swapped for greed to feed MCs at costs
that auction off their souls for a piece and watch
MCs sell their hearts and souls for chains to floss
chained by their flow which only promotes the pain
(replay)
constrained by their flow cuz of the corporate chains
the fame’s overrated I negate it prefer to walk
the path of pride to try and resurrect hip-hop
[Chorus]
*repeat 2x*
[Dom P]
I cant stand lames that’ll talk
Bout slangin the rock before came to their reign at the top, it pains me to watch, so im claiming their spot like I cut them off in the lot that they were aiming to park, I aint bangin, I aint slangin, I aint sprayin no glock,
(replay)
I aint sayin I am aimin to reign at the top, but I aint playin a part, I am making my mark, and I aint clamin Pac, im just say you not
