cardio and diet change... lower your calories and up your burning... drink lots of water...

but I think at that weight... 40lbs in a month isn't good... I lost 40lbs in 2 1/2 months.. and that has been hard work...

be more realistic...

Not gonna be able to lose 40 lbs. of fat in a month but you will lose a good bit of water weight. You can lose 20 lbs. of fat in four weeks if you stick to it and don't cheat though.

-6 small meals a day
-Drink nothing but water
-Eliminate simple carbs (sugar, ALL FORMS!)
-Increase the veggies and protein
-Start taking some Fish Oils/EFA's
-Weight training 3-4 times a week
-Cardio 2-3 times a week

Drastic weight changes like that can take a toll on your heart. Be careful

Some of the folks have already given u nice heads up and advice. But my only concern is that the human body copes much better with gradual weight changes, whether it be gaining or losing weight. Gradual weight gain/loss means gaining/losing in stages (progressively) and in a healthy manner. This way you will allow every single organ to be insync with the changes that are taking place. So that there aren't any unexpected consequences.

But are u trying to make weight for wrestling or something? or you think that will be the ideal weight range for you to be lean(BF below 9-10%). According to your dimensions, at 6'3 and weighing 170 you would be extremely thin, I would assume. However, you might not look too thin so we don't know. Have you ever weighed 170 before??

One of the main things of setting weight goals is to set realistic weight changing goals folks.
