HHG: Alot of people have weighed in on Nas signing to Def Jam. What do you think of that move for Hip-Hop?
Lakey the Kid: That's A good question. You can't use Hip-Hop whenever it's for your benefit. You can't say if it's a good move for hip-hop. You have to be a man first and have morals and principles first. When you stood for what you stood for and you made the records you made, and people are standing behind you, your'e representing them. Now you can't just go and say, "I'm going to do this for that." That's not G. That's not going to work. You can't just use it. When you do other things, you don't care about HIP-HOP.
"No one can use hip-hop to make decisions"

I would say he's right. I mean it was a good move for Nas but not necessarily for hip-hop because the game is much bigger than Jay/Nas. The merger did not have as much of an impact as I thought it would because you still got stans *coughs* BKguzzles *coughs* that will not let the beef die.

Jay and Nas are two of the most important figures in hip hop, ever. And them two duds being able to squash that beef alone was a moment in history (And just because we got stans that wont let it go on SOHH of all places don't mean shyt, you know damn well this place aint representative of the real world at all).
And yeah, the game is much bigger... but when you got two of the illest cats ever on one label, doing collabs with one another and puttin behind them one of the best battles in hip hop... hwo can hip hop lose?
Why Lake is so homotional over beef between Nas and Jay is remarkable, Nas ain't worried about childish bs Nas is a much bigger person than that. Maybe Lake should take a page from him and do something important with his career for a change instead of worring about another man's business deals.
