I see two people in the gym doing the cross fit routine....
It looks tough, I'm gonna take a week or so off my current routine and give it a try...

Their practical everyday strength must be through the roof.

Thats the program that I do. And in one of your previous posts I told you about it. It embodies all different aspects of fitness and if you add a good diet and some extra activites ie sport, running, anything. It's a great program while it may not make you the biggest person in the gym which I highly doubt it will, it will however make you the best overall in-shape person.

I apologize if I overlooked it. I just want to do it for conditioning. Ive been reading up on it for a bit. Plus I also need to learn as many training styles as possible so I can use it on my clients.

Problem is with crossfit you have to get them to buy into the program as it is intense and has a variety of different things. One day you can be running a 5K the next day you will be doing olympic lifts for reps then the next day 5 sets of calistenics.

Can you post a sample workout you do in a week when you have time?

This is a good one scale it down depending on there fitness level
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats
as many rounds as possible in 20minutes.
remember these are body weight squats have them go thru as many times as possible without stopping for a rest break. But towards the end allow them to catch there breath,
That is a sample workout. As for what I do in a week I usually follow the WOD posted on www.crossfit.com or I go to Brand-x and get one of those workouts. I also do olympic lifting before or after I do the WOD depending on the what the WOD is so I can improve on my oly lifts and improve my explosiveness.
You should work 3 days on per 1 day off for rest but I like to do 4 on 1 off unless I just feel sore then I will take two days off. Check thru some more of the crossfit program on youtube by putting in crossfit wod into the search box.
Nah, that sheit looks intense!.....Post your results.....or injuries.

I haven't suffered any injuries but I however can tell you 3 major downfalls to this program.
1)While it will improve your overall fitness level if you don't practice skills related to your hobby or sport they will fall. ie (powerlifting, marathon running, swimming, track, gymnastics, hockey, soccer, football, basketball) you still must practice your sport.
2)I don't care what anybody on that site say's it will not be better at adding mass muscle then bodybuilding or powerlifting workouts.
3)Crossfit will humble you while I am not a beast by any means I deadlift 365 and squat 315 and bench 295 for 1 rep maxs but I dare any of you guy's to go to the gym tommorow or today and try a work out called lynne which is
For 5 sets:
Max reps of BodyWeight bench-(IE if you weigh 185lbs lift 185lbs as many times as you can until near muscle failure) then immediatly proceed to do
Max reps of Pullups
This will give you a pump out of this world.
Crossfit is intense but make sure you supplement using it with extra olympic lifts or sport specific activity.
I'm in the Army so I supplement extra running and calistenics and a little powerlifting/oly lifts 3 times a week or every other WOD workout.

Have you heard about a sick fitness machine which readjusts the inertia? I think I saw it in the fitness channel earlier in the year and was amazed at the workout that only few can do. I'm sure that machine costs a fortune. Unfortunately, I do not know its name nor have I saw it at any gym.
You know when you use free weights and speed up your reps, you are using momentum as an advantage to do more reps. They took that idea and found a way to measure (almost instantaneously) the amount of momentum and adds more resistance to counter that momentum. So, if you do fast reps and supersets, you will in fact work much much much harder. They always say, you usually throw-up the first time you use it.
The footage reminded me of that.
