The thought comes into your mind and you push it away
Unable to accept it deep down, let alone out loud say
That the feeling you had and wrote off as your paranoia
Was really your personal truth standing up and staring back at ya
Chalk that up to your own demons
A life spent keeping ven those you considerd family
At arms length, scared to let anyome see your authentic reality
Time spent so vigilantly you forgot to protect from the one that needed inspection
The one that was able to bend you to your will with the smallest direction
Someone who would like the others eventually show thier true self
And have you in a tailspin saying **** it to your life, your dreams, even your health
You still wont see the demons
The drop that broke your world into pieces so minuscule that you never imagined
Life could be put back in the order you had it in
A fracture that took you to a place where you let another in without proper clearance
Made the mistake of making a choice based on fallacies, on simple appearance
Judgment sourd by an immediate need or actually a sick want
To forget that you had failed, to disregard the memoris that haunt
Allowing someone that had no intentionof living up to th dream they fed you
Get in deep enough to know what they never should have even thought to be true
Compounding your pain in a feeble attempt to get over what you refused to face
Your own demons
The years of disappointment you used a placebo to try to erase
That you were broken from the beginning
And for you there could never be a happy ending
To an existence that you never wanted to acknowledge, let alone embrace
Thinking that simply telling yourself that it was over would allow you to not face
