:ohmy: @ how weak this album is. duke should bounce man, it hurts to watch. the thing about rappers like jay-z, and nas, and even Ghostface is that when you hear them its clear as f*ck that nobody is better than them, when you hear a jay or nas song you can't really picture any other random n!gga spittin them verses, they on a completely different level. but now? jay-z sounds like just some pretty good rapper, the specialness is all but gone now, he's just another good rapper. the one good thing i will say about this album is it seemed like he tried harder than he did on KC, but still, the skills i've come to expect from a mc like jay-z are dead and gone. "ignorant sh!t" is the only record he sounds "special" on.

Ok I see what you gettin at homie. But you gotta look at it like this, he made his mark in the game. Like most of us you probably got hella Jay -z trax on decc. The problem with cats like Jay, Em, Nas and a few others is theyset the bar up way high and now everybody expects them to set it even higher when in all reality that's it. It's like any sport. You can only break so many records. Once you stop breakin records you're brought bacc down to average status. This American Gangster is a dope cd man. I listen to music on the web all the time and to be honest 80% is junk food. This is dudes 10-11th album..i dont know. jay z grew up. You can't be 38 years old still using every verse to rap about selling crack and being a black mafioso. Nas has more lee way since Nas isn't concerned about what the mainstream likes as a whole so he doesnt have to dumb himself down as much. Even Common dumbed himself down on his latest album.
