I think Nas said plenty on HHID...the whole point he was making was that the game ain't the same 'cause it's become more of a business than an artform. The point he is making was that the artform suffers because the business now is all about the bottomline. LOL @ him not addressing it on this album...it was a constant theme in the album from beginning to end...he touched on the subject on almost every song on that album with the exception of Hustlers, Black Republicans, and Blunt Ashes.

Unless you also think that Kingdom Come was a hot pile of garbage, your opinion on Hip-Hop Is Dead is completely irrelevant.

I agree 110% and i'm a fan of nas...
when he named his album "Hip Hop Is Dead," I expected some groundbreaking sh-t....album was average....couple good joints...but i was like....what the f--k is this?!?!
"N-gger" is going to be another boring ass album
Just BlackAf

Carry on Tradition is the only song and it wasn't that great. Who Killed It is a concept song with no concept. If you think you "got it" you are lying to yourself. The album shouldve been some groundbreaking music. It was not.
Streets Disciple is a better album than Hip Hop is Dead.

nas addressed hip hop throughout the album
*
Nas addresses hip hop on every album. But this album was not different despite the controversy than a regular Nas album. It was just less entertaining...

 *throughly confused*
he did address hip hop a lot, but it still doesn't change the fact that the album sucked

to me if you are going to name your album "Hip Hop is Dead," I'm expecting the artist to put his blood, sweat and tears into that sh-t and make it a classic, unforgettable album.....
to me nas just chose a title that was going to get people talking, and just made a regular, boring ass album......
it had a few joints on it.....but i was expecting an album that would be mentioned with Illmatic, Only Built For Cuban Linx, Reasonable Doubt, Low End Theory, Dah Shining, The Infamous, Ready To Die...sh-t like that.....
maybe my expectations were too high.....
I am not a Nas hater....I think God's Son, SD, It was Written were good.....Illmatic and the Lost Tape's are classics......
I was just expecting him to really wow me with this lp and it didn't do that....

So if he named his album "The Wackest album ever created" you'd expect it to be wack and get highly upset when it's not wack or be pleased when the album really is wack? Why the fukk is u getting your expectations high off an album title? That's stupidity on your own part.

No rapper drops a classic every time out. Thats like you being expected to never make a mistake at work.
Now if you feel it was boring thats your opinion. I thought it was a 4 mic album.

first of all the accusation was that nas didint say anything about the state of hip hop when he obviously did, whoever said he didnt obviuosly did not listen to the album....end of story
its fine if you where dissapointed but why jump on a thread about the content of HHID
what does the question of nas addressing issues have to do with wether nas entertained you? the fact that HHID did not entertain you does not equate to nas not addressing hip hop or HHID not having content, which is what you seem to be implying

I think through a weird sense of irony everyone expected or wanted HHID to prove hip hop was still alive by showing what the music has sorely been lacking but instead the album sort of in a way defined its own title. For like the last few outtings Nas has been dropping these personal concept albums, but being a fan I'm tired of the high anticipation with the big let down. Drop the concepts and just spit already. I know you gotta do ish for self first as an artist but the fans are way past due. Hell Nas owes us! Pay up!
